It infuriates me to realize that when i was the most heavily medicated (high dose antidepressants + high dose antipsychotics + Adderall to function, which at times i was abruptly taken off of + mood stabilizers) i was also attending an IOP DBT program where the therapists actively punished patients for disassociating (it's written into the DBT manual for therapists). They also considered "skipping meds" or even "urge to skip meds" as a top-tier, treatment interfering problem behavior. And now to learn that the drugs they made us take cause dissociation? I received a borderline diagnosis 20 years ago after "failing to respond" to ECT and my life has been nightmarish ever since.

I have witnessed 3 family members go through hell from being over medicated. I appreciate you and your honest evaluations of medication and how it can cause major problems and misdiagnosis . Thank you 😊

Excellent video-thanks for such clear explanations of the many possible side effects of these powerful drugs that are too easily prescribed by both doctors and now nurse practitioners. This video needs to be widely viewed and shared.

I am so glad I got off everything and don’t have to worry anymore about being drugged up and then try to live life in that state.

I always thought that it was weird that I was taking all at the same time...somethibg to wake me up - Addrrall, something to relax and calm me - Xanax, something to make me happy (which happiness never came out of a prescription bottle for me) - Antidepressants and Gabapentin, and finally...some good ole Ambien to put me out for the night! What a fkn waste of years!! 🥺

Genetic testing should be MANDATORY prior to any prescribing.

Doctors are harming patients either knowingly or unknowingly.

I was diagnosed as suffering from “polypharmacy.” I was taken off of 7 medications cold turkey. My symptoms were falling 12 times in 3 days, apparently falling asleep while doing normal things of daily life, and having major lapses in memory. Was hospitalized for a week. This was quite an alarming experience.

Each new diagnosis I received as a teenager and young adult was when I was in withdrawals from being abruptly taken off of a drug. The common tapering methods are dangerous. The hyperbolic taper is the only safe way. Thank you for teaching me about this.

I have had to challenge every doctor regarding doses of meds. I’m a small body frame and tend to find doctors medicate on the norm. I’ve only had one doctor who actually used my weight to determine the correct dose for me. I know my body and what it can tolerate. I want doctors to listen to my needs and start me on the lowest dosage and increase accordingly.
Thank you for bringing this message to all.

I was on 18 meds a day. I will be 60 next April and am down to about 6. I am attempting to get off my last four psych meds and am having a terrible time. I can’t afford to see a doctor who knows enough to help me. I’m a disabled senior. I was forced to cold turkey off of my benzo last June and have been in hell for months. My primary has me on Ativan and we will start titrating. I’m terrified.

Poor metabolizer w/MTHFR mutation, here! 👋😂

Felt anemic but had normalish numbers for sooo many years until finally learning about MTHFR, and starting on methyl-B12. Later, I finally started methylfolate too. Those have made such a dramatic improvement in my life.

When it comes to being a poor metabolizer, though, I’m basically impervious for opiate/opioid pain meds. I guess that’s a good thing, but lemme tell you: wisdom tooth surgery recovery is a special he’ll when hydros do literally nothing for you 😅
