Please watch this, Higurashi is a masterpiece and the original is one of the best anime I've ever seen. I highly recommend it

I really hope they're able to capture the horror and gore with this newer art style. It's interesting to see older projects get updated, but I'm nervous to see that with Higurashi. I think that the older style heightened the experience. It emphasized how unsettling and disturbing the story and its characters can be. They weren't afraid to make the gore and the facial animation disgusting. I highly recommend people watch the original if they're interested in this series.
