If you're protecting yourself from others masking isnt lying is self defense! If others weren't so intolerant we wouldn't need to mask.

I always looked at as hiding. I never thought of it as masking until now.
I have a huge understanding for your friend. I feel when I tell people or let people know, I'm always worried about how they will look at me or the way they think.
I don't like people to look at me as a person who they have feel so very sorry for.
I'm also worried that people would thinking of me as this person who isn't smart or has issues.

Thank you both. I appreciate these videos. Makes you feel less alone. When I'm at a work function, I have to mask and be on high alert not to slip up. It's exhausting. Thankfully I'm mostly remote now, but in person social situations are an ordeal. I don't think neurotypical individuals could even fathom what we go through for something that is seamless to them.

My mom forces me to mask in public. When I tried to stop masking to be myself, she got upset and sad I wasn’t following her advice. In this case, how can I stop masking? And is stopping masking a bad thing?
