Показать описание
Here are 5 super obvious signs that a female is on the autism spectrum.

Autism is common in both male and female however many of the original testing criteria was catered to males.

I hope this list helps.

1. Lack Of Eye Contact
Lots of autistic people will have issues and difficulty making and maintaining eye contact.

2. Issues Keeping Friends
Autistic females will want to make friends with people but will feel out of the loop and end up having issues keeping friends due to lack of emotional understanding.

3. Collecting
Autistic people especially females on the spectrum will enjoy collecting fandom like, a book collection or movies etc.

4. Obsessive Interest
Obsessive interest in a specific topic is a tell tail
Sign of autism, this will be the one thing they love to talk about all the time to.

5. Masking To Overload
Masking is more prevalent in autistic females, and will be seen when they are spending all day in school and or work then come home and have a complete meltdown because they have been masking all day to ‘fit in’.

I’d love to hear anything you would like to add so please, let’s start a discussion.

So yeah this is me. I most definitely am Autistic. I spent most of my life depressed and crying wondering what the hell was wrong with me. It really does feel better to know (now that I’m 42). I’m a PRO at masking unfortunately. I’ve done so my whole life.

All very true! However, the eye contact is something that can be masked, often even subconsciously. I never thought eye contact was a problem for me, but it turns out I’ve been getting away with a lot less eye contact than is typical. I glance at the eyes and then look away, look at the nose or mouth, etc. You can fly under the radar as long as you’re meeting their eyes once in a while.

Four out of five are me. I have no problem making eye contact and have been accused of staring people down in an effort to figure them out or simply daydreaming. Love your channel.

At 10, a child psychiatrist branded me 'idle and naughty'. Finally diagnosed at 57. The collecting and obsessive interest things really hit home. I collect cuddly toys, snowglobes and meerkat memorabilia. I am obsessed with pagodas and the Golden Gate Bridge but my chief obsession is the Swedish rock musician and singer Tomas Ledin.

I really like you videos and presentation style.
I am a self-diagnosed autistic female. I think I would be aspie if they hadn't merged it all in the DSM5. The traits I have that cause me the most trouble are being naive and believing pretty much whatever anyone says. Another issue is my ridiculously long emotional processing time. It can take me between hours and years for things to click into place. Until it clicks it all floats around in my head as unconnected bits of information, especially in relation to abusive incidents.
Thanks for presenting this topic!

More I watch your videos, more I have feeling that I am Asperger without official diagnosis. I always had extremely passion for breeding rats and people around felt tired, how I spoke hours about it. And then collcting...I collect stickers, gitters, feathers and then I use it on my art.😅 Friendships... I feel overhelmed by feelings if I am with people. And I don't know how to lead conversations about common stuff.

yup this is me. obsessive about art and I collect everything that has to do with the art supplies that I would use for whatever kind of art that I am obsessed with.

I am waiting on my Autism diagnosis aged 51 and it was shocking to be told I am highly likely to be on the spectrum but it has made sense and brought me some closure.

Thank you so much for sharing this information. When I was 13, I was diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder, generalized anxiety, and possible Aspergers. It wasn't until I was 27 that I was officially diagnosed with high functioning ASD and dysthymia. More people need to be aware to help their loved ones and friends.

My parents started to accuse me of doing drugs because of how irritable and sleepy I was when I would get home from school. I would fall asleep on the recliner as soon as I got home only to be awoken to them scolding me about drugs and then I would obviously become super defensive and it would escalate quickly, was just a freaking mess.

Yes! I still have all my stuffed animals from childhood. I collect bc rich guitars and basses, I’m an artist, I have like 1 immediate friend because all the others have fallen away for one reason or the other, I suck at relationships, I mask a lot. I prefer to be alone rather than in a company of 2 or more. I don’t like when others show up unannounced. Can’t stand intimacy. Severely dyslexic /dyscalculia, a.d.d., ocd to a point, I stim quite a bit. I’m newly diagnosed at age 46. I’ve had a rough life with it sort of in the sense, it’s hard to keep friends, lovers, and til recently, it was not acknowledged in girls, so I was just seen as having lots of “problems”. You know the list if you’re familiar with autism in girls. And the medications they had me on for so long. Smh.

I went undiagnosed till 36 years young. When born they thought i had mental slowness but i was gifted and no one investigated further. I am also an empath and things are quite complex. I feel so much but dont always understand. Thanks for raising awareness! ASD is SO DIFFERENT in females!

-Yes I collect animal bones, crystals, candles, and lace items!
-So obsessed with astrology and magick
-Master masker here, where is my academy award? Being an empath masking is easy but exhusts me after a week or day, I shut down. No one gets it.

Hey, just found your channel and am on the road to get some proper assessments. It’s 4/5 for me. I don’t think I have a problem with eye contact, in fact, I do remember classmates in elementary school getting mad at me for intensely staring at them for no apparent reason. I’m in my early 20’s and looking back at my childhood and adolescence through the autism lens is so obvious now. I still have my collection of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid & Dork Diaries book series, I had an intense obsession with One Direction in middle school which I faced tons of bullying for, and now that I’m in college, being there from 5-8h every weekday is immensely exhausting because of the unintentional masking. I’ve taken ASD/ADHD as my special interest now and have been researching nonstop so, thank you for this.

Now I know that it doesn't have to be exact. I have a hard time making friends but I also have a group of friends since like elementary. I'm almost 23 and we are still going strong!
I'm not sure if I'm autistic but all the other traits fit me very well.

I rarely come across a video relatable! I'm undiagnosed and since discovering your channel so much things in my life and about myself started to make way more sense and this video feels like a confirmation for me because I do and did all those 5 things! (I learned to mask less which really helps my energy levels) Guess I even had my psychologist fooled when I got treated for depression, she was supposedly a pro at female autism but never took my question about that seriously. The normie world really sucks most of the time.

I’m extremely deaf, (30% total hearing, which I reckon is awesome! I can still hear!) so I lip read. I didn’t even know that I was autistic until my youngest was diagnosed with autism and ADHD and promptly told me that they got it from me! So I researched, researched, researched! No one tells me my child has something without me diving deep to understand what they mean. So then I researched what Autism was and came across tests for it. Turns out I too am on the spectrum. And ADHD as well!😳 It explained alot!

My 8 year old daughter was just diagnosed a few weeks ago. I had been told she may not get the diagnosis till she was at least in middle school by doctors, but luckily, we got a great evaluator! All of these are definitely accurate for her, especially the collecting and masking!
