This resolved my no light issue too! When I first tried lighting the pilot light I did not hold down the pilot gas button down for 90 seconds before pressing the pilot lighter button. After watching your video I held it down for 90 seconds and it took about 12 button presses for the pilot light to start with the blue status light flashing. I looked through the peep glass and watched the burner kick on after turning the temperature setting to the level we like. Thanks again for the great instructions!

Thank you so much for posting this! I was freaking out as I got an error code at some point and then couldn't get the blue light at all. After waiting a while and following your directions exactly, I was able to get the pilot light on and the blue light continued to flash with no error codes. Thank you very much sir!

Step 1: Official Instructions say you must turn the knob to off position for 5 minutes to reset the "smart safety mode". Step 2: After 5 mins then turn knob to pilot. Step 3: Official instructions say hold the pilot button down for AT LEAST 90 seconds and then after 90 seconds push the igniter button 10 times, do not let go of pilot button until its lit or you have to repeat from step one. Note to manufacture: This must be one of the worst "smart safety" features ever to ignite a water heater. Thanks for this video because the others were not complete on instructions.
