That's pretty close to what happened to me when I told my super lefty parents that I had become a christian when in college. My parents said they were going to disown me, that I was brainwashed and it was a phase. They would cringe at the name of Jesus and raised us to be atheist. Well, nearly 35 years later, I can say for sure, it wasn't a phase. Hahahahaha

This happened to me when I became a Christian as a teenager- my tolerant father was very upset and accused me of cannibalism because of holy communion. It was a curious time for me. I was raised as an atheist.

That reminded me when i told my muslim parents that i became christian, not coincidence that is similar to their reaction especially the disowning part, but thank God everything is good now with them after 9 years.

This may be the best one I've seen! BTW, funny story, a liberal parent told me all about how she let's her children listen and watch whatever they want because she's wants them to be open minded. Shortly after she told a story about how she caught her child listening to a Christian radio station and was quick to make sure she changed the station. Not once in the conversation did she reflect on her hypocrisy.
