Coming Out to My Conservative Christian Mom On Camera

I decided to come out to my family in honor of National Coming Out Day and my 23rd birthday. I wanted to share the video so it can maybe help those that might still be afraid like I was all my life of telling their family, especially if they are very conservative. This video with my mom was edited down from one hour to 5 minutes for the sake of time and my sanity. I may share the full version if there is interest. (I did receive permission from my mom to share it.)

IF YOU ARE NOT IN A SAFE SITUATION DONT COME OUT! If you are a teenager who is relying on their parents to feed and clothe them and you know they wont take the news well for Christ's sake DONT DO IT. Seriously you could be kicked out, beaten half to death and end up committing suicide. When you are on your own two feet and you are ready both emotionally and financially by all means do come out. Im serious, I had a friend on tumblr who was so gung ho about coming out to her extremely conservative family on national coming out day. I warned her but she did it anyway. They kicked her out and now she's staying at her girlfriends house. Not everyone is so lucky. Please just be safe you guys.

As a catholic, my job is to spread god's love. Doesn't matter who you are, or what you believe. I may disagree with your beliefs, but I respect you as a person.
I do support the LGBT community, and dislike how people within my religion treat them wrongly. I apologize for any grief that my religion has caused you and I plead that you don't look down upon all of us due to a few bad apples.

I could tell 3 seconds in that this guy was gay. How could his mom not know for however long he's been her son (at the time of filming)? Just goes to show how in denial christians can be.

It's not a sin, we were not asked to born this way, stop believing otherwise. And this is how my mother reacted, for real, she still thinks I can "turn straight". Poor guy, I feel so sorry for what he had to go through.
