The Problems with Ozempic [What the Research Shows...]

Ozempic & Wegovy are very popular hacks for weight loss currently, and most doctors believe them to be safe long-term. Problem is, this belief is based on no concrete long-term evidence. Doctors evidently trust big-pharma so much that they will eagerly recommend these GLP-1 receptor agonists despite there being no long-term safety data in existence.

--- Research ---
Overall, GLP-1 receptors are widely expressed in various tissues and cells throughout the body, and their activation has numerous physiological effects.

I agree with you, Dr. Berry. But I was on Ozempic for 8 months. I have PCOS and reached diabetic levels. I went keto (didn’t know carnivore at the time) I lost 20 pounds and plateaued. My A1C and Triglycerides were still very high. I went on Ozempic and it helped me lose 40 pounds. Allowed me to start exercising again because I was so heavy, it was hard to move my body. Off of Ozempic, down 71 pounds altogether, eat mainly Whole Foods prioritizing meat. Much more active. I can do 10 pushups when I couldn’t do 1 before. I’m glad I used it, but I’m glad I had a doctor that was very clear it was an addition and not the cure it’s marketed to be.

I am doing strict keto and Ozempic and I am down 158 pounds. I am still morbidly obese and my obesity would kill me way before Ozempic. So I’ll roll the dice.

I was on Ozempic for 5 months. I’m Diabetic and was very overweight. I stayed on the lower dose for 4 months then went to the middle dose for a month then I stopped as I lost close to 26kgs. Before starting Oz I completely changed my diet and now currently do a low carb, low sugar, high protein diet and it’s working for me. I have kept the weight off for a year now. My diabetes has improved, I exercise regularly and feel so much better. I was hesitant to go on it but am glad I did.

The sad truth is that as a society we need to address WHY so many people are overweight/morbidly obese/diabetic, etc. A pharmaceutical drug doesn’t address lifestyle, mental health, stress management, spiritual well-being and healthy habits. The side effects of any medication are risky and dangerous, but I feel the the standard American lifestyle and diet are the root cause of many illnesses. As a healthcare professional I encourage and educate my patients on these principles.
Thank you for this helpful video!

God Bless this Man. He has changed my life with his information. I was 458lbs with diabetes, on 250 units a day of just my basil insulin per day. I was sick and expecting to die and early, blind, painful death in a wheelchair with no legs on dialyses. My Docs just told me Diabetes is a disease you have to manage and I kept getting fatter and sicker. Last Saturday when I weighed I am down to 284 lbs now. On NO prescription medication and I feel great. I didn't feel this good when I was a teenager.

Thank you for sharing this. My A1C levels were considered pre-diabetic (6.0) and I was researching Ozempic, but I couldn’t bring myself to take the plunge. Instead, starting this past March, I cut out virtually all takeout/fast food and sugar and, so far, I’m down over 50 lbs. My doctor has cut my hypertension meds in half. I feel so good and the weight loss is consistent

So glad I found yalls videos bc I was about to start ozempic for diabetes. I've did keto off and on for the past ten years and managed to lose 70 lbs during that time. In the last six months since carnivore I've lost another 35lbs. At 6' 2" 255lbs now I'm back at my junior high weight and feeling great!

I love taking ozempic … I’ve lost 40lbs in just a few months and dropped my A1C from 9.5 to 5.5 . I’ve totally changed my eating habits and I walk 2-4 miles a day ❤

I’m so sorry to hear about the problems many people have had taking this medication. I guess I’ve been lucky so far. I’ve dropped 63 pounds. And really got my life back. I had no issues whatsoever. But clearly with any medication, everyone reacts differently.

The main misconception here is taking ozempic lifelong. Most of my patients actually are able to come off it and maintain their weight with healthy life choices. Losing weight helps with insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome, so when weight is gone you may no longer have pre-diabetes. That is how I look at it. I lost 30 lbs with ozempic and coming off it now. My feel amazing and look great, so now maintaining is the main goal.

My doctor, who does not support carnivore, prescribed Oz. Thank God there is a four month back up at the pharmacy or I would have picked it up before seeing your video! I even went to a hormone clinic for bloodwork, which I am waiting on, and they suggested, of course, that I start Wegovy. I’ve been debating and found your video. I’ve been carnivore, again lol, for about three weeks. I am considered morbidly, obese, but no diabetes. After doing the research, I’ll just stick to carnivore. Keep up the good work because apparently you and Neisha both, have some haters out there. You must be doing something right! I trust you more than my own PCP. I wish I could find a PCP, who was actually educated in truth, the way that you guys are!

I took ozempic for 6 months and had to go to the hospital with pancreatitis and gallstones. The Dr said it was hard to prove that the Ozempic caused it but i believe it did. I had no issuse with anything when i started taking it and i was also doing keto but wanted a little help. I don't recommend it to anyone.

I am someone who has been taking Ozempic and then Mounjaro for a few years. I have done this while also changing my way of life. I don't eat sugar anymore, and eat very low carb. I also do intermittent fasting. But these drugs helped me lose weight. Before I took Mounjaro, I barely lost any weight despite my lifestyle change. I was so frustrated. Mounjaro changed my life and I am very grateful for this modern medicine. It has changed my life. I am the lab rat-- I have taken these medications for YEARS and I am doing absolutely great.

Hi Dr Berry. Blessed to have found your videos. 7 days doing ketovore, exercise and apple cider and my fasting sugar went from 145 to 90. A1C test at home says now 6.5 from 7 a month ago. Loving my healthy me.

My doc gave me a prescription for Ozempic but the cost (fortunately) was prohibitive. I say fortunately because in my desperation searching for an alternative, I found your channel.. I started carnivore in March of this year and within 7 months I had dropped all the weight (40 lbs all gained after menopause). Today I continue at my pre pregnancy weight and size of 30 years ago. Who woulda thunk!

Weight watchers is now partnering with Ozempic. Just read an article on it. This is getting ridiculous that we still aren't addressing the real issues with weight, the food.

I work in a pharmacy. The number of new prescriptions we receive for Ozempic is alarming high. Everyday, we receive at least 10 new patients being started on Ozempic. The existing patients' Ozempic doses increases to alarming 2mg weekly. Some of these patients are not obese or diabetic. I wonder what the doctors tell them (or the other way round) that convince them to use Ozempic? Are they not worried about the long term effects? Thank you Dr. Berry for making this comprehensive video. ❤

I took Ozempic for 3 months. It didn't improve my numbers or my weight (so my doctor wanted to increase my dose). I started to struggle with chronic pain in my knees, hips & ankles. I could hardly walk and started getting depressed about my weight and health. After I started having kidney pain, I did some research and found other Ozempic patients experiencing similar symptoms. I stopped taking it altogether. After a month or so, I was able to walk and move without the chronic pain. My doctors was not happy, but I was. Numbers are slowly getting better with diet change.
