The truth is that neurosurgeons can quit after 10 years of work based on their income, but most people can't make the same level of salary even if they work for over 30 years.

Get your own content, instead of narrating the X Neurosurgeons. He is finding his inner self amongst the natural environment with his dog. His wife supports him. He is in the here and now, he is obviously thought things through before he left his job, which was his calling at the time. Not everything is about money, prestige or material things. For a long time he worked, he already said he had made good money. He is happy right now through nature, which helps him to heal.

In about 85% of the time, people are paid to do something they really do not want to do.

#1 takeaway: DO NOT QUIT YOUR JOB IF YOU HAVE DEPENDENTS. (unless you are completely prepared)

From watching all this videos about professional quitting their jobs tells me that perhaps our system is somewhat broken and with that said, we all have a huge task to do to mend or come up with a new way to fix the system . It’s our responsibility as human beings! We owe it the ourselves and to life.

It’s do or die peeps!

The problem is "Hospitals and doctors need to make money". Of course they do but the medical system, at this time, designed only to make money. Are heliports for doctors on hospital roofs a sign of success or endless greed?

It's crazy how people just blindly say MIT trained surgeon as if MIT has a medical school. The former surgeon clearly says he went to MIT for college.

Good neurosurgeons are hard to find. People need them for procedures that save their lives. When a grocery store clerk quits it doesn’t affect people’s lives. When a neurosurgeon quits people with tumors, Parkinson’s, brain aneurisms, etc., can’t get treatments they need. DBS is life changing for many Parkinson’s sufferers. This video is nonsense, these things DON’T HEAL THEMSELVES. 🙄 Financial planning, I don’t think a multimillionaire needs financial planning at age 40. Just squirrel away a couple million, done. Gee whiz.

Thank you Cat for your common sense advice to those who might be considering following the path of someone like “Dr. Goobie”.

It’s important to recognize that Dr. Goobie has an MIT Education, and had experienced a successful career, financially. In other words, Dr. Goobie had the “luxury” of being able to “quit”. If things don’t work out after leaving, Dr. Goobie has a respected education, and the ability to return to medicine either as a surgeon or teaching.

Most people do not have the option available to Dr. Goobie. We would all like to “escape” our 9-5 jobs, and live in our version of paradise. But, the realities are most of us cannot.

The key to happiness is usually not found in “escaping” from the grind or reality. “Happiness” and “paradise” can be found where you are if you make the decision to change your perceptual set. You can live in what you perceive is paradise, and be unhappy. It is not the external environment that creates a feeling of happiness. Happiness is within.

All I have to do is look in your eyes, Cat, to see that wherever you are, happiness thrives. The voice in your eyes is deeper than all roses 🌹

Really pleased to see this compassionate, thoughtful (common sense) opinion of the Goobie video... about the solution to his self-diagnosed 'midlife crisis'. In theory, the idea is inspiring and idealistic - reality and practicalities are quite different concepts. Each of us should aspire to a life of good health and happiness, and some of us may be fortunate enough to achieve those goals without drastic changes to lifestyle and/or career. I believe we should start with considering change within ourselves - finding some degree of satisfaction with our relationships, balancing work/life commintments, and feeling gratitude for whatever we have... Start with a positive outlook within the mind and consider all options from there.

The commentary here is a perfect supplement to what is offered in the referred video. Very balanced, reasonable and provides a context I think is important for many to consider.

The courageous and admirable actions of dr Gooby seem to highlight just how vapid and spineless most people who are invested into our profoundly sick society are. People like her and the other doctors desperately trying to put a spin on what he was saying to try to justify the fact that they have traded in their humanity for money and security.

We don't care to see other Dr's break it down or explain why you think he quit, he said what he said.

He would've loved it if the things they were doing wasn't so corrupt! 🤷 corrupt to the core!!!! He got PLAYED and saw the truth.

Very practical video as it's very concerning as Doobie could convince others life is easy after quitting. Life is exploring new options and taking risks. Failure is not anything to be ashamed of. Failure gives you knowledge and understanding of what works in your life. Try a different job rather than quitting altogether.
