Tips for those starting out
- Always save every 5-10 mins
- Start a new save version name (ex: cartoon01.xcf, cartoon02.xcf, etc.) after any major changes to be able to revert to your previous direction of thought if needed.
- *Always* save your finished work as two files. The finished image (ex: .png, .jpeg, etc.) and the editable file (ex: .xcf file for gimp)

Keeping the editable file is a very reliable way to ensure no Intellectual Property (I.P.) Infringement, or if someone does try to steal your work, provides evidence that 'you' are the original owner in a court room.

A basic rule of thumb for any would-be tutor is to trim your tongue. By saying less, you actually communicate more. If you were to count the amount of words that you have tried to pack into your 20 minute video, type out your text out and you will find that you could have cut out nearly 10 minutes. People only remember a fifth of what they hear. Censor yourself. Prepare a script before-hand and stick to it to reduce the boredom threshold for your audience.

My first tutorial for Gimp, nicely done!
I've used PS for 20 years, and a lot of the expressions are the same in Gimp, which helps a lot. It's a good piece of software, which I'm looking forward to using.
