I'd never noticed until now but the Kraken is actually "gentle" with the Black Pearl as it drags it under water. Always wondered how it was in perfect condition in the third movie and watching closer the Kraken doesn't break any part of the ship. Just uses its strength to drag the complete ship and Jack underwater and into the third movie.

I love the fact that throughout the movies, Jack faces death with honor, and just goes to show right here... he doesn’t run. He remains calm and collected... and simply says “hello beastie.” Before diving into an unbeatable battle.
