I find it amazing how Disney managed to delete every scene that humanizes Norrington further, in every movie. The way he looks at the sword is just heartbreaking.

The look on Norrington's face as he looked at his old sword... heartbreaking.

They should've kept the, “The map is finished sir, " bit in the movie. Adds to the theme that the age of piracy is ending.

This is the only scene where jones takes of his hat

Norrington :" I'm gonna stab that heart!"
Beckett :" oh Nu, Nu, Nu, Nu."
That awful moment when someone doesn't understand you and nearly destroyed your plan in a matter of seconds.

Aw, Norrington looks like he's about to cry when he picks up his sword

I always liked Norrington for some reason, imagine if he did indeed stab the heart right then and there.

This should have been the ending for a multitude of reasons:

1. Showing the Dutchman and Jones surrendering really drives home just how real the EITC is as a threat, when the Villain we've seen as this sinister and menacing otherworldly presence for the entire film saluting to mere mortal men.

2. More Norrington. Always a plus.

3. "The map is finished sir." Is one HELL of an imposing ending for this movie. The Golden Age of piracy has come to an end.

Am I the only one who actually likes Commodore Norrington character throughout the series ? Just love his will to stick with the law and braveness

what the fuck!?!?
they should have kept this scene, it is important for the next chapter’s intro and due to the “the map is finished, sir” as a meaning of the pirates era ending

I really like this extended scene. The moment where Beckett says "Just as I imagined it" at the end... gives me chills. The guy was always ahead of the game... until he screwed up and attacked the Black Pearl after the Dutchman battle.

1:09 the look on his face when he’s reunited with his sword is great. It shows a depth of feeling for the weapon beyond just a symbol of his station, but also like an old friend who saved his life time and time again.

Little did Norrington know, if he did stab the heart, he would have ended up as the captain of the flying Dutchman

Kinda weird how nobody other than the three main characters reacted to the Dutchman's entrance. Not even those guards. "Oh look, a bunch of ghost pirates who kill everyone they come across just showed up. Pretty neat".

I’ve always hated the fact that people want to take Davy Jones’ heart for themselves and essentially use him like a puppet, like the poor guy is going through some relationship problems leave him alone 😂

Wow, Norrington was one move away from becoming the Captain of the Flying Dutchman

If they were going to show Davy Jones taking his hat off, at least have let him shown a look of disgust. It seemed so out of character.

I feel Norrington's emotion. Lost everything, ship and crew, status and love, to Pirates.
And here he is, with not just everything being returned but with promotion.
Gosh I sure wish they had kept this scene. It's deep on numerous levels and links perfectly with the third movie.
