Did you look into insurance policies in case of wildfire. You need a large area for fire trucks to turn around in the yard, otherwise you might not have coverage from the local fire department.

Could you share in more depth the hose plans?? Wondering because personally that sounds like a lot of money to spend on a house that at a glance looks like a normal ranch style home that you could buy and rennovate. Then again I don't know CA house prices and im assuming a ranch style house would cost around $600k soooo yeah

You’re obviously not doing that in Santa Barbara county. It’ll take you AT LEAST a solid year just to get through the first round of the permitting process. Add 20% to your budget and two years to your time line to build here. It’s ridiculous.
