I appreciate your videos. My best friend is engaged to someone I fear is an abusive narcissist and I want her to get away, but she’s 2 months pregnant and is making excuses for him and not really seeing the full picture. In short, he stole her cat and brought him to a shelter while she was sleeping one morning after telling her he hates cats and that she needs to take him to a shelter. At first, he told her he had taken the cat inside and spoke to someone. Then he changed his story and said he had only told her that to make her feel better and that the shelter had been closed, so he put the cat in the gate. She went to the shelter today to try and find him (with no luck but we’re praying for a miracle) and called him on the phone to ask him about it again. He got defensive with her, asked why she was at the shelter and when she told him, he laughed and said she was being bizarre. THEN he told her the cat wasn’t there and he had taken him to another shelter. In addition, when she tries to talk to him or talk through something with him, he accuses her of picking fights and will abruptly end the conversation or tell her that she “needs to go to fucking bed.” He talks down to her and treats her like a child (she’s 24, he’s 33 I think), says, “Hey tits” when he sees her, like it’s a regular thing. AND he recently told her to back up off him or he was going to hit her. He has a domestic violence charge on his record. He also said he would punch her in the stomach and kill her baby…. What breaks my heart is she said, “Oh but he was just joking.” It’s at the beginning stages so it’s difficult for her to see what I see because I’ve been through that and much worse. I was wondering if you could either make a short video touching on this topic or if you could respond to my comment with your take, insight, wisdom and/or advice. Also, anyone else in the comments who would like to leave some helpful advice, share their experience or just express some encouragement so that I can show her, that would be really nice. Hmmm… this sure sounds like my current reality… I’m giving and giving while he’s receiving and receiving- yet, I don’t feel reciprocated… I ask myself “Why am I even with him??” As if one day (soon) I’m going to wake up and he will become a better version of himself and give me more real love, time etc
