Criticizing Atheism for not accounting for "the preconditions of intelligibility" is equivalent to criticizing a screwdriver for not showing if a piece of wood is level to the ground.

Atheism "places man at the center?" Umm...no we place man on a speck of dust in a vast cauldron of exploding stars.

“If I presuppose a God exists, that gives me the answers to all my questions! Atheists can’t account for all the questions so they’re automatically WRONG”
😂Give the world a break, you’re only making yourself look silly

Why most atheists will be wrong? How can reasoning and wisdom be wrong? Are we to throw away everything that conflicts with the bible, and tell our children biblical fairytales?

Atheism is NOT a world view; it’s a single position on a single proposition. Period.

Atheism doesn't need to account for anything other than not believing in a god. That's it, and that's all of it. It is not a comprehensive worldview; just a position on one single topic.

Secondly, there is no reason why the "preconditions of intelligibility" should be accounted for by a true worldview, or by all worldviews, atheistic or otherwise. It would be nice if your worldview could give some explanation of this, but that doesn't make it necessary.

Thirdly, all materialistic worldviews do account for basic intelligibility; if we are part of nature, then it follows that we should at least be able to interact and "understand" how nature works to the best of our limited abilities. Of course this has little to do with atheism, but this definitely shows that Mr. Klein's argument does not hold.

Finally, if you believe you have received your knowledge about how the world works from an all-knowing divine creator, then there is no reason at all to suppose that the knowledge you received is true or even useful. Even your belief that your God is good and wouldn't deceive us could be planted by this God. You can't believe in a God that has the power to be a divine puppet master and then just dismiss the possibility that he could indeed be pulling your strings because you don't like that idea.

I can't tell if this is parody or not.

Presuppositional apologetics really is the absolute worst argument in the theists arsenal. It's pathetic

That was an intellectually dishonest word salad.

Atheism is NOT a claim, it is the disbelief or doubt of a claim. It doesn’t require subscription to a worldview. My favourite lyric is ‘We’re certain, nothing’s certain” ffs.

To a Believer, all that sounds perfectly Not because it is reasonable but because they need that to be the case.

Why is it so hard to comprehend the fact that atheism is NOT a worldview, it is simply the disbelief is theistic claim that a “God” exists.
Everything else is something else, the origin of the universe, life, consciousness, complexity, etc, etc… has nothing to do with atheism, they are all independent positions that have nothing to do with the theistic claim that a “God” is real.

What a load of word salad to misrepresent the basic statement of "I don't believe in god." No world view, no nothing, just an absence of belief in an invisible sky wizard. The word Atheist should not even exist in the dictionary. If I don't believe in smurfs will you call me an Asmurfist?

Completely misrepresented atheism. Comes with the territory. Watching grown men fight for a book of hate is disgusting.

He's essentially arguing for Presuppositionalism, a view that all knowledge comes from divine revelation. The banana is yellow, because God granted you a personal, divine revelation that the banana is yellow. It's one of the silliest and most extreme forms of Fundamentalism, and as far as I can tell, it has absolutely no basis in study of the Bible.
