U.S. scientists make nuclear fusion breakthrough

Yaaay! They had an experiment recently that improved the fusion related energy output to about 1/5 of the laser energy input. Seems like 182 lasers focused on a single tiny ball encapsulating some Hydrogen. The energy from fusion would be gamma rays, x-rays, all of which can be absorbed and shielded against without long lived radioactive materials. Go team!

Maybe if the USA invested as much in peaceful technology as we do in war cold fusion wouldn't be a distant dream???

China is more advanced in fusion reactor ( operational for 17, 36 min = world record Wikipedia) probably 1 working in 10 years. As the guy said, i do, also, not believe for a breakthrough this century using laser. So many similar experience but none could make it work for more than 1/1000 of second. The only good thing I see is that the laser could be a great weapons if it can be used more than once a day
