If you watch the video on fusion from Sabine Hossefelder, this hyperbole becomes significantly muted. This is people advertising for more funding, not a giant breakthrough. Think of it like a company using non-GAAP earnings to emphasize their EPS, while losing money if using GAAP accounting. Nothing against fusion, would be great, but lets be realistic.
