I love being in the garden. Never burn out except the 90+ heat in my yard is hard to bear at times. But is my escape from all my mental issues.

The heat is definitely a factor for me; I have to be careful of the times I go out into the garden. Stay safe everyone.

Sorry I missed this live. It was very inspiring. My burnout comes from the mosquitos. They drive me nuts and I have to slather myself with repellent and then I can’t stand the way I smell and feel. So I procrastinate!

Watching your videos helps my garden burnout! Thank you for all the great content. I am going to review the one about building strawberry towers this weekend because I would like to have one in this winters indoor garden.

I forgot to say that I just noticed for the first time that possibly a bunny rabbit has eaten into my largest Watermelon. Wow!!! I love growing. It’s so calming, yet can become addictive.

My burnout this year came from the maintenance that specifically comes from heat and drought. Because of circumstances I can only container garden, and I can’t afford (right now) things like irrigation or premade shade cloth. It’s a future goal that I’m researching & saving for, but right now it is what it is. Which means 2 months of 90-100 degree weather had me constantly watering and trying to find and set up bed sheets and tablecloths to protect veggies, sometimes several times a day. I’m sensitive to heat (health issue side-effects). So my energy had trouble keeping up. Basically the weather wore me out, more so than the gardening. However, I also discovered that I actually love flowers! Possibly more than veggies, but that might just be the burnout speaking. 😆 Either way, until I can get the equipment (or learn to make it, which is very appealing to try), I’m planning ahead to spend next year growing spring and fall veggies, and leave summer for the flowers. Oh! And make a self-bubbling bird bath. That’s this winter’s project. 😄❤️🌺

To prevent burnout, I assign myself 2-3 things to do for the garden in one day at a time so I feel accomplished. Thinking that you have to do a million things at one time will make you go crazy.

This time of year I just harvest and enjoy the garden because it is way too hot and humid to get much done unless i get out at 7am, but yes too tired to do maintenance

I am two days late. But I am enjoying your entire video. Thank you always for sharing. I just went in to my backyard raised garden bed and harvested a basket of purple hull peas. I am still waiting for my baby lima beans to start producing. Growing to a point where I can harvest them.

Thanks for the encouragement but I've definitely got garden burnout. Our fires in WA state and all around us this year. Tonight my eyes are burning just going into the back yard. And besides the smoke and ash it's hot. Miserable summer since middle of July. Battling with rust, spiders spinning all around, now caterpillars are showing up along with aphid. Man what a year.

At first I didn't realize this was live and was wondering if Kim was going to jump out from behind a plant like Kevin from EpicGardening! These are such great tips for avoiding both garden AND housework burnout!

I am harvesting seeds from my purple hull peas because I only started out with one packet. Now I am saving the peas and I should have a larger harvest of purple hull peas next growing season. I hope I have enough baby lima beans so that I can harvest the beans from them also. I saved a ton of bell pepper seeds. I have never attempted to save tomato seeds. I don’t know how to do it, but I just don’t take the time to do it. I just order them on Amazon or purchase them from Walmart. I actually planted the baby lima beans first, but all of the purple hull peas came up before the baby lima beans. I think I waited maybe two weeks between planting the two beds. I am having a ball growing and harvesting my own vegetables.

Now, I am going to plant cabbage and salad greens and mustard greens for the first time. I will be planting them in my cement mixing tubs. Because my beans are still in the raised garden beds and still producing, I will go ahead and use the cement mixing tubs. I have six mixing tubs that I purchased from Harbor Freight. I purchased all they had.

those smart pots that are square and fit in milk crates are really nice! I am about to start my winter indoor garden, because I live in Michigan. The groundhogs are driving me nuts this year, and so are the rabbits!

You don't need to get PM! Pests are unavoidable if your not using systemics... But using OHN and natural farming techniques to cultivate a microbe 🦠 rich soil will eliminate problems with fungal blooms. The first thing it straightened out for me was fungal balance.

And now lazy about the fall planting. I live on the east coast and don't want to pull out the grow lights again
