About Cole & Charisma:
Welcome to the official Roll with Cole & Charisma YouTube channel! Since the start of our relationship we've gotten a lot of questions about our experiences as not only an interracial couple, but an interabled one as well. On this channel you can catch us doing travel and adventure vlogs, challenges, our inclusion series, couple first times, music, and so much more! We started this vlog to bring people into our lives, to answer some questions about how we navigate the world, and hopefully raise awareness surrounding accessibility and dating in a wheelchair. You'll quickly see in our episodes that we're all about inclusion and keeping a great attitude no matter your circumstances, so if that's what you're into, you're in the right place!

Trauma is an onion, there are so many layers to it at various life points. You can be "healed" and still hit a pocket of emotions. Doesn't mean it's a regression, it's a new understanding of everything.

Happy lifeday Cole! I just wanted to thank you guys for all your videos. I’m a c6 quad and was injured 2.5 years ago. I found your videos shortly after getting discharged from the hospital and it really helped me see the possibilities of life after my injury

When i watch you two, i don't see Cole's disability first. What I see is two very attractive people who share love and respect for each other and such positivity for others. "Not disabled, just differently abled". Both of you are so strong and accomplished. You said it best, making the best version of yourself does not diminish tough emotions and hardships, but do not let them keep you from living and loving. We need more people like you two in the world today. A reminder of what really matters.

Last year my cousin lost his life saving a little girl from drowning.
My family is so proud of what my cousin did. The girls family too.
The girl is young. Around 10ish. She has big feelings and emotions About it.
She and her family were at his memorial service. She released doves for him.
I know her life will mean so much more and my cousin will forever be remembered

Disability or not, I think that - as people age - there are mental significant shifts that take place where you eventually don’t recognize the persons you once were in your teens, twenties, thirties etc. I’ve had many of these moments lately and I’m only 47. It’s truly surreal.

I love listening to you guys. My husband is a C4 C5 it has been 16 years. We were married 25 years when it happened. A tire flew of a transport and landed on his vehicle. We have been through so much together but we are thankful for each other and our boys and now grandchildren. Every day is a precious gift.

I was shot in the head 43.5 years ago and I do think of that accident on the anniversary day, but many times I forget about it. Nobody calls me or anything on the day, I personally would find it weird. I don’t want to get stuck rehashing that day over and over. I am permanently disabled. I do walk with a cane and have trouble with one of my hands. I take medicine because now I could have seizures, but the medicine has been fantastic and I am seizure free because I am diligent about taking it. Cole, I’m so sorry about your accident. I know mine wasn’t at all like yours, but I understand what it’s like to lose the ability your body once had. I was a girl who absolutely loved the Olympics and the gymnastics was my favorite. My friend and I were always doing cartwheels and handstands, bridges, etc. I used to go roller skating and ice skating. I’m not sad that I can’t do those things anymore, what good does it do me? I’m thankful that many things were in place that day that saved my life, including praying loved ones and churches! I cried out to God to help me and He did. Life is more difficult now for sure, I have learned to adapt and do things differently. I’m so happy for you to have your beautiful wife, Charisma, who obviously is crazy about you. I love that you work hard to strengthen yourself and how you do whatever you can to help out your lovely wife. I bet she appreciates it way more because she knows it’s a struggle to do it. Your great attitude and willingness is so important and I love how you two complete each other.

My brother had a stroke in 2016. His entire right side is paralyzed. He has checked out. He tells people he can't do anything because he's a cripple. I explain to him all the things he can do. Then I refer him to your channel and show him all you can do . Thank you for all your inspiration.

Cole, your observation that 'everything afterwards is icing (on the cake)' really struck a cord with me. Thanks for that. I walked into a hospital in January 2023 to have surgery to remove a cancerous mass in my tongue and in the process lost most of it. Then radiation therapy, which does as much harm as good for head and neck cases like mine. I am damn lucky to have recovered as much ability as I have now to talk understandably, and maintain my weight without a peg (feeding tube), even with dealing with a cancer reoccurance in a lymph node earlier this year, but I still struggle some days with 57 years of memories of pre-cancer 'me'. Your astute observation is another arrow in my quiver to shoot down my regret and combat the loss I feel some days. So, you and Charisma help across many threads of people's trauma journeys, and I am very grateful I ran across your channel, and your story, when I did, about a year ago. ❤ Thanks, you two!❤

Do we say "Happy Injurerversary"? I'm so happy it brought you to this life with Charisma & you sharing it with us as the outcome of a devastating injury. I can't imagine how many people's lives you've touched by showing how positive life can be even disAbled. It helps me spending time with you two.

Your life was spared for a reason, Cole, and we are all thankful to God that it was. Continue to live life to the fullest with your beautiful wife 😊.

I understand and think this is very relatable. My second chapter was initiated by huge fibroid tumors which resulted in a hysterectomy. I thought I would be a doting mother and family person. I handle it by not looking back, only forward. It helps me stay in a state of gratitude. Plus, the more we learn about others the more I realize life isn’t fair for most of us. Love you guys ❤

You both are so cute. We are all where we are meant to be. We all have been given an assignment in life. At least that's what I believe. I agree so much with how what you share can help others in the same or similar situation. With the way the world is now, it's nice to be a part of a supportive community.
