I love Ciaphas Cain stories from wh40k! Probably the most light and lighthearted take on wh40k universe, and to me personally, it gives the universe a real lived-in feeling. It's NOT actually all war all the time, there ARE peaceful moments, and nice moments, and sitting in a bar with a friend and feeling camaraderie while standing shoulder to shoulder with your fellow IG's. To put it simply, it makes me feel as if this is what europe on the brink of world war 1 was probably like.

What got me into Warhammer lore was the Astartes animated series... It's one of the best directed 3d animations i've seen and how it treats the setting it's just way too good... it creates way too many questions and draws you in like a magnet. It's top quality, it cannot be better.

I suggest you start from War in Heaven timeline. Thats imo the best point to start delving into 40k to see how races came to be, what started the entire conflict between each other, which gods were present what they represented etc etc.

Blood Bowl takes place in an alternate version of The Fantasy Universe when during a dwarf and orc battle, they found the rules to the game and decided to play instead of battle to decided the winner. Then everyone agreed it was better than war

If anyone want's to start to get into the 40k universe I would highly recommend the Ciaphas Cain series. Its main Characters are part of the many Human Army the “Astra militarum" facing many different Threats to humanity. The Books have a unique narration and do give a lot of insight into the Lore while never infodumping you to death. They are a bit lighter in tone than the typical 40k Story which I personally think is a good thing as some 40k stories, in my experience, drift into the unnecessary Dark without having an instory reason except being edgy. The books really shine on having great characters and making the world of the 41st melania feel alive. The first book is called “For the Emperor” and also available as audiobooks on Audible . (i like to paint while listening to them)
Other possible starting points are the first Horus heresy book or the first of the Gaunts Gost books.

As a Warhammer fan who learned about League lore in large part from your content, I was always struck by how many similarities there were between the two and I was unsurprised that a lot of warhammer writers were also hired on by Riot

16:05 To be fair this would be like saving people 8 books of reading by saying "Snape kills Dumbledore and Harry beats Voldemort", there's a lot of stuff before during and after that makes it worth the read, most books focus on single battles which is why there's so many

Dear god I would love Necrit to keep going with the 40k shit cause I’ve been fascinated with it for a few months now thanks to Bricky and various other YouTube channels. It’s so damn neat and really rewarding to learn more about.
