Nurgle: "I spied the mansion and the one that lived within. And I decayed, and I withered."
Khorne: "He looked at me with eyes of hatred and rage. And now the fury is mine."
Slaanesh: "I saw the umbral princeling of Chaos. And he was nourished by our cravings."
Tzeentch: "Their skin crawls with changing faces. Each one speaks ten lies for every truth."

Slaanesh is giving me serious Courage The Cowardly Dog vibes, like they’re about to ask me to return a slab I took.

The other Gods: Hmm, what uninteresting thing is going on down there
Tzeeench: Oooh! Let me see! Let me see! Oh wow, explosion!

I like how they actually look like Lovecraftian Eldritch horrors, where the human mind tries to comprehend them but cant.

Whenever I see images of them in the skybox I can't help but think of the chaos gods as looking down on models while playing a wargame like the TT players.

of all the ones that they showed, Nurgle unsettled me the most. he wasn't hiding. He wasn't trying to be scary. He just loomed in the distance. Unstoppable, inevitable, all encompassing. There is no escape from Entropy.

I love the Nurgle voiceline. “The Mansion” is such a vague and undefinable concept. It just speaks to an enclosed hollow space but also with a sense of grandeur. Almost like “mansion”is the only way the human mind can comprehend or rationalise it. Also the fact that the word “spied” is used implies that the space was only glimpsed. And the one that dwelt within could be anything. Very lovecraftian.

Fun fact, they don't actually disappear. They just fade out for a while. Jostle the camera in place for a bit and they'll come back into focus for you to get a better look.

Theory: Khorne is equally as large as his brothers, but the Skull Throne is so tall that he looks smaller than he actually is.

If you look a bit harder, you notice that Tzeentch looks like his icongraphy (the Burning Eye symbol)

I like how Nurgle is an outline of old art, and Khorne is straight up said art flashing in the sky.

An then there's fucking Slaanesh, looking like they're trying to lead you into a back ally to steal your kidneys for more super meth.

I love that they went for the more abstract 'mass of eyes' for tzeentch...reminds me of 'biblically accurate angels' lol

I really love tzeentch being a bunch of eyes in a blob as like he doesn't want to miss a single nano second of a battle you enter

Imagine dedicating your life in service to the dark gods, you make a bargain of everything you once held dear for just a glimpse of your dark patron.

And then a .png of an eye blinks on in the sky for .7 seconds.
Tzeentch, you've done it again.
