Methamphetamine is a stimulant that can cause a person to become addicted with just one use. In 2017, about 964,000 people used meth. Toni Colon decided to take herself out of the meth equation.

“It brought nothing but disaster,” Colon said.

After she held her first grandchild in her arms, Colon realized it was time to get serious about life. “When I first held him and looked in his face, and looked in his eyes, I thought to myself, ‘if it wasn’t for me, this child wouldn’t be here.’”

Colon overcame her meth addiction by picking up photography.

I’ve done meth for 28 years 16 years of it everyday and 12 years of it off and on or on weekends. I am 47 I have all my teeth (no black ones lol) I’m a journeyman machinist After being up 2 weeks I’d see shadow people after 4 weeks I’d have hallucinations clear as day I would ignore the hallucinations Every job I ever had I was instantly promoted to research and development working along side the owner and no one ever knew I did meth. The only downfalls have been the cost or running into crooked law enforcement that would beat me up when I refused to give names or sell the drug for them
