As a Catholic thank you for making this video, wonderful calm explanation. Lots of love to my Orthodox brothers

I'm very much interested (rather, being drawn to Orthodoxy). This is one issue I'm trying to work out. I'm a life-long Protestant, so you can see the theological barriers I face.
Please pray that the Holy Spirit will speak to my heart on this.

I am Roman Catholic, and we share so much in common, but I have been feeling pulled to orthodoxy more and more!

Christ blessed me when I was very young and sent married to me to help me and I love her so much but she always needs before Christ and I love him more than anything

Let's remember the influence Mother Mary demonstrated over her Son at the wedding in Cana...
3 And when they ran out of wine, the mother of Jesus said to Him, “They have no wine.”
- MARY DEMANDS

4 Jesus said to her, “Woman, what does your concern have to do with Me? My hour has not yet come.” - DENIAL

5 His mother said to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it.” - MARY INSISTS

6 ...
7 Jesus said to them, “Fill the waterpots with water.” - SON COMPLIES WITH MOTHER's REQUEST

Lord Christ Jesus' love for His mother obviously overcame His desire not to get involved... That is how strong is her bond with her Son and her Son's bond with her. Asking her to pray for us is thus one very powerful channel to ensure our case is heard in the Heavens.!

I understand the explanation you give. I just can't comprehend it spiritualy. When I have direct instruction from the Lord to pray to the Father . Then I have the author of Hebrews telling me to have the confidence to walk directly to the throne of grace to make my request known. With those 2 VERY powerful things alone, not even speaking of anything else. I see no motivation or benefit to pray to a departed brother or sister in Christ. My relationship is with Jesus, not them. Just a thought. Thanks for the explination.

I am an orthodox Christian. Prayers should be to our Lord Jesus Christ .You don't have to go thro Mother Mary. But it's our duty to thank her and the saints for the prayers and mediation they still do for us.( They are still pleading for our sake).

“Why do we ask Mary for prayers? The same way we ask anyone for prayers.” Now, I get it. Thank you.

So what do you do with
Ecclesiastes 9:5-6?
For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing; they have no further reward, and even the memory of them is forgotten. Their love, their hate and their jealousy have long since vanished; never again will they have a part in anything that happens under the sun.

Oh my. I thought the BIBLE was our manual for living life, I didn't know liturgies and quotes where also.

I would be grateful if you would do one on a stumbling block for me is the iconostasis. It looks to me that the eastern orthodox are re-assembling the wall that that Old Testament had between us and God. And in the crucifixion the vail was torn and thus opening the way to Him through Christ. This iconostasis seems a later development of the church and in the ancient church there was no walls and doors that separated us from the table of his body and blood. I look the worship of the eastern church, but find this wall and its closed doors an offense.

Oh my. The comments section here has made me incredibly sad.

As a Protestant searching, I would be turned off by the Christian’s and their prideful debates, more concerned with being right than leading people to truth.

From now on, I’ll stick to the videos; they exude love and kindness. Lord have Mercy 😢
