VPN is good for privacy not boosting your speed. VPN adds another hop in the signal path. The only case where VPN improves speed is if your ISP throttles specific types of traffic, for example streaming video. Most ISPs do not do this and therefore VPN will actually make you internet connection slower. I went from 943 Mbps with no VPN to 122 Mbps using a VPN. My latency also went from 8 ms up to 46 ms.

Don't forget that if the website you are visiting has a lot of json ajax, and JavaScript it will take a long time to load despite your internet speed. And also many hosting providers have slow servers so the website loads slowly. It's not just relative to what internet speed you have at home.

Wild, this was just one huge ad lol cause a vpn helps in a sense by masking what you're doing but they can still see how much data you're using which if over their Cap (yes even unlimited data has a cap before they throttle your connection which usually resets monthly) your data will just be throttled anyways.

Why do you keep trying to upsell vpn? When you know quite well that they do not perform the tasks they claim to do

I am kind of confused. I pay for 70Mbps in my country and get around 65-70 but after doing some Ip changes with the help of VPN it went to 150-200Mbps. Can anyone explain me how the hell i just upgraded my internet package. Idk for how long before my ISP finds out but it has been two days i am downloading streaming with no issues and for the ping it is quite stable.

I'm actually getting throttled because of the content I look up depending on what it is because all of the same type of Content is throttled. If it's even political in nature, it's throttled.

One thing they won't tell you if you're on cell data is that if you live within more than one tower, they can charge your data for more that one connection which doubles your data usage! As if you were roaming! When traveling shut your data off! That will help, and when you need data, stop, use it and shut it down!

they throttle up your connection while you speed test and throttles down after speed test completes.

They are really really smart.

I call bullshit on my isp enhancing the speed when I Speedtest I have had literally 0.00 upload and 0.05 download so I’m being fucked on my internet plan and it’s getting fucking ridiculous

Your modem / Your ISP / Your VPN / Internet ... throttling happens at the ISP level prior to your VPN connection therefor if your being throttled at the ISP level a VPN will never increase your speed because encrypted or not your ISP is throttling your connection because the ISP is shady no matter how big of a company they are. A good comparison would be you have a bank that restricts your bank card from being used until you call and complain then they have to send someone out to your house to look at the card -- but several days latter -- not right now.

VPNs are slower anyway when compared to direct from a isp . They results are skewed from the beginning

If i have a monthly data plan. Let's say 100gb. Will my isp still know how much data I'm using when using VPN?

Pretty sure VPNs don’t hide what you’re doing to your isp but w/e

I believe my ISP is specifically throttling Microsoft Flight Simulator Data. When I log in and start a flight I was getting 3 or 4 FPS. It didn't matter how many times I rebooted, shut down MSFS I was running into the same issue over and over. I logged into Nord VPN and MSFS worked flawlessly. Coincidence?

What if an ISP throttles your connection rather than throttling a particular service. Will a VPN help in that case?

My wifi speed is 50Mbps, but every day or twice every day it goes down to 2Mbps sometimes even 500Kbps and I have to fix it. Wtf is going on its so annoying and tech support isnt helping at all.

I was pirating software.... lol. And forgot to turn on my vpn. Now i notice the throttling. How long until it stops?!

I dont get the vpn thing. Any time i use vpn its always slower speeds anyways, because youre connecting to a different server. Thus when i use vpn after this throttling it just results slower as expected. I actual hook up a router to a router (the main router) to establish two seperste networks in my home. I had to do this because due to possible structural interference my corner of the room didnt get good connection, which again i remedy with by hooking up a mesh router to the main non mesh router, i then use one of the mesh devices directly in my room.

If i run internet speed test on the home router the speeds are good as expected for the service we pay for, i think it is just my personal router/network thats impacted by the throttling haha.
