Do I Need Unlimited Data? Here's The Truth!

Cell phone experts David and David help you decide whether or not you need an unlimited data plan. A typical unlimited data plan includes unlimited minutes, unlimited messages, and unlimited data with a high speed data cap around 23 GB.

Most people don’t need unlimited data because free Wi-Fi is available almost everywhere, unlimited data plans are very expensive, and the average person doesn’t use more than 6 GB of data per month.

However, unlimited data plans are a good fit for people who travel often or for those who don’t have Wi-Fi at home.

Here are some of our favorite unlimited data plans:

I’m on a very expensive data plan with Verizon, but I’m always on YouTube. I don’t have WiFi at home and I use my phone like a computer.

I just got a notification that I used up all my high-speed data after I bought an unlimited plan. This is crazy and this is why I bought an unlimited plan, but turns out it’s limited. Limited me at 40 GB after 15 days of use.

Considering that almost a month into my billing cycle, I have used 81.3 GB, I am going to stick with my unlimited plan 😆

I agree, I used to only use around 2 or 3gb of data and a lot of the time use WiFi but after getting rid of one of the boxes that acted as a hotspot for the far reaches of my house I have now noticed that I am eating into my data plan a lot more. I was afraid that if I was to be out and about I would end up using more than 3 gb of data.

Very useful information. Canada 🇨🇦 is just now getting on the unlimited bandwagon. I looked into my carrier’s plans and the minimum plan was $75 a month. I figured out my monthly from settings and it averages out to 1.4gig a month.

Thanks for this. I just switched from unlimited data to a much cheaper plan, so I was glad to hear what you had to say on the topic.

When I drive out of town, I got tired of finding new radio stations, so I use I heart radio app, then bluetooth the phone to the car radio. The new unlimited plans were cheaper than my old 2 gig plan.

Thanks for your help in helping me make a good cell service choice.
I'm an old guy, please linger a little when explaining phone tabs on the screen.

They lying . He used 17 GB in the last 6 days and 10 hours. Not no 1GB a month. It’s impossible to have only used 17 GB in a yr

Choosing a plan requires you to determine:
1. If you have an internet provider at home.
2. If you travel often : domestic / international
3. Where you live: urban/ rural
4. Where you work, and how far you travel to work
5. Anything else that requires a GPS
6. Anything else that requires uploading or downloading lots of data

🤷🏻‍♀️😑I dont think I qualify for a $20 plan

Doesn't help when you are at home. Using my data to surf the net (my phone is my hotspot), watch movies, shows etc you can't do that unless you have unlimited data

So if my two kids and I watch a YouTube a lot and we don’t currently have WiFi because we are moving soon, should I have the Unlimited Unlimited plan with AT&T?

People use data when they're at home?? Why not automatically connect to your wifi?
