When only one computer has slow internet

All my other devices had fast internet by for some reason my PC was download much slower than others.

On your network connections, go to properties, the advanced tab and change the wireless mode. I watched other videos but none I saw recommended this. I actually don't know how I ended trying this but it worked.

If this doesn't work, some of the solutions other people did that made it work.

I switched between Dual band 802.11a/b/g and 802.11a/b. While switching fixed the problem, it wasn't permanent and the speed dropped after 2 minutes or so. I finally ended up restarting my modem and calling my Internet provider which resolved the problem. Oddly my phones weren't affected and it was only my PC and my laptop.

What did it for me was going into the adapter settings and putting the tick for IPv6 and then magically i went from 15mbps to 800mbps.

Years and Years of being on wireless internet 2 gaming PC later and this is the only thing that has shown actual results a whole 6 years of just dealing with slow internet I will test it on some games and see if it actually fixed but so far looking good thank you so much

Holy shit, this literally quadrupled my internet connection, i was getting over 1k ping on games and now its back to the normal sub 20. This is an insane trick, sending this video to all my friends. Thank you my man.

Thanks @Jay, working for me really helpful as rebooted router at least 10 times but no change in speed.
I need to do use some different setting as having Windows 11 Lenovo laptop. putting steps for others.


control panel -> Network and Internet -> Network and Sharing Centre -> Change adaptor settings
right click "WiFi" for properties -> select "Client for Microsoft Networks" & then click "Configure" if any warning pops-up click yes

Now on "Advanced" tab select property "802.11a/b/g Wireless Mode" and change it's value (on right side list item) select option 1 "1. 5GHz 802.11a" and press OK
old value was set to "6. Dual Band 802.11a/b/g"

Fixed my issue. I was getting 20 mbps on my pc while everything in the house is super fast. Now I'm over 200 mbps on the PC after changing this setting. Thank you for this

I don’t see wireless mode but instead of changing anything in the property tab I changed the value tab to 5ghz 802.11a and it made my speed go from 1.2mbps to 9MB/s 😅 Got me to the right place, thank you

oddly enough, my pc was super slow for no reason today, which has been happening lately and for some reason every time the issue requires a different fix. this one worked this time, thank you so much!

Wow man, this helped instantly. I have a 200mbps download speed on my mac pro laptop, but my windows computer was slow, like 50-80mbps. This video instantly solved it. Really appreciate you making this, man.

Bro this is insane, after i changed my router i literally had 500kbs connection could barely load 480p youtube and this fixed that in like 2 clicks youre a god. I was even considering buying new router lol

UNDER-RATED I just got fiber with Frontier and less than 24 hours the downloads were slow asf. Ran speed tests to modem, then to my computers and that was all fine, but the issue was still happening. Checked for apps or any programs running in the background and nothing. YouTube was buffering to load videos at 240p....this one change FINALLY, I'm streaming 1080p HD and no buffering. Now I'm going to go check and see if my games will play without lagging out... THANK YOU SO MUCH....someone at Frontier was about to have a bad day.
