Valheim #Shorts - Use a sun dial to tell time

Just be sure to build it somewhere that gets enough light. This won't work in a forest or around buildings.

This doesn't go with you though out and about. The same principle works on the minimap. Sun rises in the east(mid right of the minimap) and sets in the west (mid left of the minimap) face the sun directly with the camera and your arrow on the minimap will face it. From there you can tell how long left the day will last.

Funny thing is that it’s exactly what people made centuries ago. Stonehenge is literally a more complicated clock that works in a similar way (but to determine what date of the year it is according to the size of the shadow when the sun is at the highest)
