Did you "fall off" guitar? Also, 52 Week Guitar Player is CLOSED until mid-September. We just closed in June so now is a super early time to get on the waiting list . We'll only be accepting 100 new students (see related video "How Good is 52 Week Guitar Player Actually" for more info)

I think its okay to fall off and come back to guitar also, and i think not enough people mention that.
Ive been playing guitar for a long time but i fell off and on and everytime i realized getting back into guitar is easier if i dont comapre myself to others, and just focus on where my skill gaps are and figuring out the best ways to consistently practice.
My point is your hobbies aren't going anywhere if you take a break you can come back to it, and that's okay!
I appreciate your general emphasis on practice and how to structure it, and the types of things to learn as someone playing again after a break 😊

Been playing for around 20 years. Not the entire length of time
But definitely on and off due to life choices.

To all players. DONT QUIT, DONT COMPARE!! thanks Brandon.

Ever since I found Brandon's channel, I've regrown my interest in learning the guitar fully and especially getting myself a solid electric guitar to jam out songs and solos. I used to play the guitar back in both junior high and high school, but never since then.

I recently turned 22 and despite not having the funds for a guitar now, once I do, I will get one and start learning from the ground up.

The reason you got flamed for saying "guitar is not for everyone" is because your fanbase is full of people that don't understand that you can always not love guitar.

Ever since I’ve found Brandon’s channel, the initiative to make sure I stay on top of my playing has dramatically increased, I have a practice warm up routine that I’ve compiled along the way that’s unique to me as far as I know, my playing is definitely tighter and more relaxed and I’m happily in a band that allows me to be creative and able to implement whatever I learn along the way. I also get to play in front of an audience once every week. This all started literally this year whereas last year I was just playing along to songs I like.

Thank you Brandon, I got off the cigarettes 🙏🏻🎸🎼🎶 lmao

I've been playing guitar for 30 years but I've fallen off several times. Getting back into it though and these videos are very helpful, thank you. Keep up the great work!

Well Brandon, you are an excellent teacher and I appreciate your videos. In my case I did what was right, and best for my kids. Taking classes at night to further my education and career and spending free time with my kids, coaching and giving back to the community are not a waste of time. Guitar was waiting for me when my priorities were met. Back then we didn’t have so many video games but we did have lots of cigarettes. We also didn’t have YouTube so we could teach guitar classes to prevent us from working at “do you want fries with that.” We needed real skills to make big bucks in the corporate world. I agree, guitar is more fun. Carry on.

Musicianship requires hard work determination dedication commitment and discipline most people don’t have these qualities and prefer to be only a guitar 🎸 owner .

I don't make fast progression, but every year i do make progress and that is satisfying for me.

Guitar is cool as fuck, but I also rock climb, and shoot pool. Those are also cool as fuck. One of the things I really like about guitar is how much there is to learn and how much hard work it takes. Think of it as type 2 fun.

Yo Brandon, you’re the man. You speak truth. I been playing almost 20 yrs w/o a teacher. I started off just having fun but that gets old, I NEEDED to know. Music is a language and it’s gotten me thru the good and the bad. Thanks. N.J.

Age reveal: I think you’re 38, water sign. 🤘🏾💯🎸

Well, I’m never gonna quit. I love playing guitar. I love buying music gear love buying guitars and love learning new music so yeah, I’m not going nowhere.

I essentially stopped playing for a decade, then got started up again. Granted, I'm almost 100% a bass player now and only play at church, but it is rewarding. Plus, I get to buy cool new gear and don't waste my money on CIGARETTES anymore!
