My ex came to me years later telling me how much he regretted the way he treated me we both cried. I could never be with him again because his presence brings back painful memories. But I forgave him and was proud of his growth. I do wish him the best I’m still growing myself. Everything happens for a reason. I do believe I was a great woman to all the men in my life. My dad told me that down the road men usually have deep regret that they’ve lost a good woman. But they don’t realize that until sometimes several years later. I feel if you know that you’re an amazing woman deep down you probably are but there is always room for improvement within yourself. I just recently got separated after an 8 year common law relationship. During the last two years he took me for granted and I started doing things by myself and building myself up while still in the relationship. Then one day there was a nasty argument with a family member - not even with me - and it all fell apart. The funny thing is that I am so relieved because I was his emotional foundation, support and best friend but he was not mine. I now feel that I am able to just breath and spoil myself.
