I just love Ken.... that's how I feel after ordering extra fries. LOL!!! In complete shock how nonchalant this woman was in regards to her debt. "Too lazy to cook". How about you fry an egg with some toast or a bowl of cereal? SMH

One of the things that really helped us stick to our grocery budget and stop eating out was by slightly increasing our grocery budget to enable us to buy a few added extras that could go with our meals to make them more interesting. You were looking at an increase of $10-$15 as opposed to an extra $60 plus every time you eat out. The next thing I did was get together about 10 different meals that could be cooked within a 20 minute time frame. It would take you that long to get ready to go out for a meal.

Eating out can be getting a Aldi's pizza, A loaf of french bread and a bottle of wine(date night) Take 18 minutes to bake the pizza. Make the bread into garlic bread and warm with the pizza . Plus, lunch the next day.

Dave had a similar call and told the person who called that he can't give them the motivation and can't help them. They have to help themselves by getting serious. I think he ended the call shortly. I was stunned. But I get it - if the caller isn't motivated, you're just repeating things they know or will never do as long as they're not motivated.
Dave's advice works when people reach that sick and tired of being sick and tired moment.

It’s definitely a behavioral issue and by choice to not follow the plan. I have been budgeting for three years and every time payday comes around I’m excited and look forward to budgeting and saving because it will give me a peace of mind knowing that my finances are being taken cared of.. that’s the goal of budgeting is peace! This woman doesn’t want to wait around until catastrophe strikes and THEN starts budgeting because of a hardship, but unfortunately that’s what kicks peoples butts and will learn their lesson is when disaster strikes.

You have to make sure your budget is realistically attainable in helping you work to your goals, but you also have to be hold yourself accountable to following through and you haven’t been willing to do that. You have to find it within yourself to stick to it. No one can fix that for you.

Put cash in envelopes for each budget category each month. You will quickly see which category runs out. Evaluate and adjust. Create "set aside" envelopes for categories like insurance, property tax, and car repairs for expenses that come at different intervals. We've used this method for 10 years and it is the secret to a happy marriage.

I’m actually impressed they are actually able to keep current with all these bills. I imagine they’re in for a shock when they are forced to start making student loan payments again.

The amount of “adults” that don’t have SELF CONTROL now a days blows my mind. Then they call in acting like there is some unforeseen force keeping them from staying on budget. And, by calling in, it will some how magically get them to stay on budget. The real issue is in the mirror.

Amazing how easy it is to dig into a hole and to keep digging, getting deeper and deeper. The solutions to the problems are so visible, but they really didn't want to affect their lifestyle. Not being in debt is a really great place to be and there will be some pain to get there.

Impressive that she admits this. Most people don’t and just try to keep up with other people who are in terrible financial condition due to their own facade.
