I used to upgrade every 2 years because the phones would legitimately get better. Then the IPhone X came out in 2017. Didn’t upgrade for 3 years. In 2020 IPhones got 5G so I got the 12 Pro Max. Since then…..no real good reason to upgrade. I’ll get a 16 Pro Max this year just because it has been 4 years now. The phones are so good now that only way to upgrade is when you get bored with what you have or you smashed it somewhere along the way.

As someone who has been buying iPhones since the iPhone 6. Screw Apple. I had an iPhone 6, switched to android came back for the 11 Pro Max, then the 12 Pro Max, then 13 Pro Max and now I have the 14 Pro and have kept it and didn’t upgrade to the 15 because its just not worth it. Yet again its not worth it based off of these “upgrades” what the hell is Apple doing? This is a complete joke. They really changed the camera orientation on the base 16 models and thought that was enough. Come tf on

I have a 12. The 16 sounds interesting to me because the 15 PM seems too big, but I sort of want something bigger than my 12, so 6.3 vs my current 6.1 might do the trick. And the extra button would be nice since it will probably be mappable for shortcuts.

Seems like a dud year for apple. The big reason I’m upgrading is for the USB C charging port.

Capture button is so if you hold your phone horizontally to take photos, you can press the button (which'll be on top at this point) like a real camera to take more stable photos so you don't have to move your finger and stuff. I am surprised no one figured this out yet It hought this was obvious but all I see is people speculating about random stuff.

Apple's QA has significantly declined over the past few years, particularly in SEA countries. I purchased the iPhone 13 about 2.5 years ago and didn't feel the need for AppleCare+. Fast forward to today, my phone suddenly restarted while in use and now it won't turn on at all. I took it to the service center, and they informed me that the motherboard is dead. When I asked for an explanation, their response was simply that it died with no further clarification. Now, they are asking me to pay ₹35, 000 (around $420) to replace the motherboard. Seriously, the motherboard just died? What happened to the premium Apple assurance? What about the rigorous testing Apple claims to conduct before launching a product? This is extremely frustrating.

If you have 12 pro or higher, I just don't see a reason to upgrade to the 16. It looks the same, the dynamic island is not mind blowing, most people have half a dozen lightning cables laying around. AI won't be fully utilize-able on the new hardware for over a year. They're changing the screen sizes on the 16 pro models because they can't offer the consumer anything game-changing at this stage of the game.

What big changes are you always chasing? It's an iPhone, and it has to remain an iPhone, and the iPhone has undergone enough changes consistently, the 15 series got quite strong changes in its shape, and both the regular 15 and the 15 pro line, which actually got a titanium frame and more rounded edges, this is a major change in framework. After all, the iPhone must still be recognizable as an iPhone, the 16 series will again get quite noticeable changes. Grow up, then you will understand that an iPhone must and can remain an iPhone, otherwise it is no longer an iPhone! Just like the phones of any other company, they must and can remain recognizable. If you want big changes, you have to make a completely new company, with a new phone.

The always on mode features sucks!! When you enable the low Power Mode, the always features disable autmaticlly!

So basically as I see it there is no reason to get excited about this phone. Last year's usb-c is the biggest thing they have done in recent. I'll stick with my 15 pro max, get the software upgrade and next year when it all starts again I will probably wait for the 19. "That's they will really go all out" lol
