Thanks for watching and I hope you subscribe! I’m still figuring out this whole YouTube thing though, so comment if there are questions you have + videos you might be curious to watch!

I’m trying to post daily vlogs and have this be a place where we can talk more deeply about topics that short-form content can’t encapsulate in just 30-90 seconds.

Say hi on social @nadyaokamoto

Listen to Tigress, my podcast!

they gave her a ton because of a couple of factors:
1. they were unsure if space would affect menstrual cycle and flow duration/how heavy it is
2. In the event they cannot bring her back, she will have extra
3. they overstock EVERYTHING on spacecrafts in case of emergencies.

🙃

edit: they asked her will that be enough because they dont know how much she normally bleeds

"its not rocket science dude"
NASA: *thats the point*

Honestly I appreciate that they would do that. So many men get grossed out at even the slightest mention of a period, I’ve heard multiple stories of boyfriends refusing to get pads or tampons for their girlfriends. So you rock NASA

1. They didn’t know if the no gravity environment would affect her menstrual cycle
2. It was the first time sending a woman to space so they had no previous knowledge to what was going to happen
3. There might have been a malfunction causing her to stay in space longer, when going to space they ALWAYS pack extras of everything

I get 100 is excessive but it’s not like they all go to waste after. There is nothing wrong with taking precautions

Whoever made this song needs to do their research

Edit: read the second point before you comment.
1. They didnt wanted to embarrass her if she had to ask for more.
2. They didnt know if the lack od oxygen and gravity would make the bloodflow more heavy or something.
3. They study space, not periods.
4. (Thanks to the replys for reminding me) They gave more incase there was a emergency and she couldn't get back and had to stay for longer.

1. They didn’t know how space would effect it
2. They didn’t know how long she would be out there

as a woman I don't understand what's wrong in sending a hundred tampons? it's always better to keep extra bits ESPECIALLY if you're going to somewhere as far as space. We have no idea what things can be used in case of emergency and save lives. it's always better to keep as many as possible spcially when it won't cause an overweighing problem

They gave her that many for a few factors:
1. The didn’t know how space would affect her menstrual cycle
2. Men were usually separated from menstrual classes until as late as 2000’s
3. They overstock EVERYTHING in case of emergencies
4. They also overstock in case they CANT bring her back

As a woman who is an only pad user, I’m genuinely scared of tampons 💀

edit: UHM I JUST NOTICED THIS AND WHY THE HELL DOES THIS HAVE SO MANY LIKES???

They gave her tampons because when you go to space, the liquids in your body don’t recognise gravity (because there is no gravity) so that whole system gets confused leading to a lot of periods in a short while, so don’t complain that they gave her 100 tampons because if they didn’t it would’ve been a mess

Woman: it's not rocket science
Scientists: yeah! That's why we're asking 💀

Edit: people are fighting in the comments so listen to me
They are indeed rocket scientists but the effects of outer space, g force, zero gravity on the female menstrual cycle is unknown. So they stocked more than regretting later
Btw they overstock everything

Better safe than sorry! These men definetly understand more.

I don’t understand what’s wrong with them asking is it enough

The reason they gave her that many was because if something went wrong, and she couldn’t come down, she needed supplies. Plus, periods might of worked differently in zero gravity.
