Thanks for watching and I hope you subscribe! I’m still figuring out this whole YouTube thing though, so comment if there are questions you have + videos you might be curious to watch!

I’m trying to post daily vlogs and have this be a place where we can talk more deeply about topics that short-form content can’t encapsulate in just 30-90 seconds.

Say hi on social @nadyaokamoto

Listen to Tigress, my podcast!

They need to teach this in schools. You know before some girl thinks she’s bleeding out and dying lol

As a 17 year old who was never taught how to do this, I'm so grateful 🙏❤

I love how the girls not scared lol 😂 when I first saw a tampon in water I was like “how is that supposed to get out?!” But it’s ok now because I use them 👍🫶

i was on my period once when i was at my boyfriend’s house and we were hanging out across the street. i had to go change my tampon and he didn’t want to let me go alone so we walked home, i went into the bathroom and he sat outside the whole time, making sure i was okay (and playing with a random non-used tampon i had in my bag since he was curious)

I’ve tried to use one but I start shaking and tense up, and if I do get it to work it feels uncomfortable and hurts most of the time 😅

As someone who doesn’t have their period yet this video makes me a whole lot less scared, and when I do get mine I’ll get August

AS SOMEONE WHO USES TAMPONS YOU NEED TO CHANGE THEM MORE THAN EVERY 8 HOURS CAUSE YOU CAN GET TOXIC SHOCK SYNDROME SO PLEASE CHANGE AT LEAST EVERY 4 HOURS!

Last year people at our school taught 5, 6 grade abt this and I’m thankful for that (I was in 7 but I’m glad they are learning)

My mom was super religious, though she admitted of trying tampons in the past, she still thought that her negative experience was enough to not allow her own daughters to try different menstruation products that might work for them, and even went as far as trying to reinforce the myth that tampons make you lose your virginity. At a certain point when I was a teenager, I got sick and tired of missing out on fun summer activities just because I was on my period, so I went to the store and bought my first tampons. I have to admit, I had absolutely no idea that a vagina was not the same as the urethra, so I kept trying to shove it up my pee hole and just gave up. Because of religious fear mongering, it took me a while to get the courage to just put my hand down there and feel around. I genuinely was raised to believe that my genitals were sinful and dirty. Eventually I figured it out, and for most of my young adult life, tampons were my go-to period product. All this is to say, I wish I had women in my life back then who didn't make it seem like feminine hygiene was taboo or something to be ashamed of. I'm glad it has become more of an open topic over the years. Please don't be afraid to get familiar with your own body!

Change it every time you go to the bathroom. I specifically make extra trips for tampon changes about every 1-3hours while I am awake and about every 3-4 hours at night due to a heavier flow and to keep it from leaking through. (You couldn't pay me to wear pads. It's been 14 years without them)
