Size loses meaning on the Quantum Level #shorts

On the quantum scale, it doesn't make a lot of sense to talk about concepts like "size." We compare mass and energy instead.

I keep telling her that but she's having none of it.

My brain is now a fluid concept, thanks, Nick lol

Nick: Allow me to explain.
me: Hmmm, alright, I'll allow it.

I heard one person describe the double-slit experiment as the position of the electron being bigger than its size, so when it hits the screen its position goes through both slits.

You just did a perfect loop without even trying!

Kinda like Abraham Lincoln.

You find Lincoln out there, interacting with people in textbooks, movies, etc. But when you try to pinpoint Lincoln's location, it collapses to a single point in the 19th century - a million times smaller.

This is an awesome short! I love that I learned something today ❤️

I know Hund and Paulli wouldn't like it but I kind of like the idea of all an atoms electrons being able to hang out together across their shared non physical dimensionality

Electrons being the size of atoms is because they're in a quantum superposition (essentially, we know they're there within the field, but not the exact location. Kinda like schroedinger's cat being both alive and dead until the box is opened, the electron itself is simultaneously the entire field and a single point within it. That is until it's measured and the superposition collapses into the single observed electron within the field)

How about interactions purely between the electrons itself?

When i think of a wave in a pond after a stone has been dropped in, the size of that wave is also not easily measured. You could define something like the rate of change of the diameter of that have and relate it to the viscosity of water, but there is no one clear size of that wave.
So since an electrons position is described by the square root of the waveform in the Schrodinger equation there similarly is no real defined size for the electron.

Ant-Man would disagree. ‘Size means everything’

Hey Nick! Just a tip so us people that need to read subtitles don't struggle. Them being below, in shorts, are blocked by the short title and such... a bit of a hassle.

Is there a book or essay with a collection on JUST the philosophical paradoxes/weirdness of quantum physics? For instance, "two atoms in an empty box, shake it up, set it down, look away, open the box: there is no way to know which atoms were which anymore because they're identical". I'm sure someone has collected a bunch of these conundra (?) and I'd like to read about them.

This is the really deepest right question about quantum mechanics. there is no such a thing like the particle.
Everything is the wave !!!
Particle is an illusion which is manifested by waves.
This is my conclusion since I have seen this Science Asylum channel for several years..

Distance over which the phenomenon has influence. The extent it has the ability to have causation.

There is a simple explanation if you understand your probability course in university. It is called Quantum Bayesian explanation of the quantum models. For a person who wants to predict the world, first of all, he can forget about it. If he doesn't want to be fooled around, he must add probabilistic tools in the deterministic models so that he can add the measurements processes' non idealistic nature. Hence he minimizes his "being wrong" amount by turning yes no questions (particle being here or not) into "I made this much error" continuous statements. Which means physicists doesn't know statistics.

Considering the size of a photon, VLF radiation can have a wavelength of thousands of meters, and it must entail at least one cycle of oscillation.
