1. Using bad bones (non grass-fed beef, farm-raised fish, non free-range chicken). 2. Not roasting the bones. 3. Using a toxic cooker (dark glazes, plastic bags). 4. Storing in plastic. Suggestions: Store in Mason jars (DON'T freeze it or it will break!!)

I read the list on the white board in 5 seconds and I am out. Thanks for the video.

You can actually freeze the mason jar by not filling it to the brim

I use my mason jars in the freezer all the time. Just use the plastic lids and don’t fill it to the top. Leave like 2 inches of space & don’t tighten the lid. Leave it a little loose.

Also let it set and cool to room temp before you put it in the freezer

I've been freezing broth in Mason jars for 8 years. Not one has broken. Leave 1.5 inches for expansion, freeze then put lid on.

WHAT??? I’m confused! You said not to roast then the woman listed the benefits of roasting. What???

Why not use raw apple cider vinegar to draw out the nutrients in the bones?
What about stainless steel inside the Crock-Pot ?

I use a AMC surgical stainless steel pressure cooker and my broth comes out perfect.

Maybe this was mentioned already but also using filtered water as opposed to plain tap water is a good tip too. Thank you for this.

You show that #2 "Not roasting your bones" is one of the "4 Toxic Mistakes When Making Bone Broth".
She explained that roasting the bones gave more flavor.
There was no mention of any toxicity.
What toxic waste/s end up in the broth if the bones are not roasted?
So, if there is no toxic waste from the un-roasted bones, the #2 Statement is FALSE.
So then your cooker is the best is also FALSE.
What sort of a doctor are you?
A doctor of what?

You can freeze in jars just cool it first in the fridge and leave a good 2 inches or so open inside at the top, then transfer to the freezer. It will expand but it's less toxic than plastic bags.

You can use a freezer safe mason jar. If you are getting them second hand you can tell they are freezer safe by the straight profile vs. the narrower Neck on other jars.

I use mason jars straight without the neck. Freeze the bone broth in jars top with foil. Cap the jars when the broth is frozen.

Thanks for your common mistakes made when making bone broth.

I am totally new to all of this and watched a series on healing your microbiome & improving your general health.

I decided to make some chicken broth and have done all the wrong things..

1.     It cooled slowly in my slow cooker

2.     It stood in the fridge for a week before I used it in a soup (which I know now it only lasts 3-4 days)

3.     It did not smell funky when I used it but has made me ill..

4.     I’ve had diarrhea for 1.5weeks now – every time I eat, I need to go

5.     I’m getting a bit worried about my gut health (should not have messed with it in the first place!)

6.     I’ve been drinking Kefir and eating cultured yoghurt and/or fermented vegetables

7.     Issue is that fermented veggies have onions and I get gas from onions!

8.     Not sure what else to do to heal my gut & am hoping I have not just replaced all my normal gut bacteria with monster bacteria which is destroying what good gut bacteria I did have!

Please help!

That will give space for the broth to expand and not crack the jar

We do not have slow cookers in my country, I would have to order it and that would be quite costly, however an idea just came to me since you said that the pot is made of clay.I could just use our traditional clay pots with a cover, its not a slow cooker but I bet it would work

Also this is pretty much just an add for their lame hipster crock pot

Roasting doesn't "release" anything except flavor. It's not the healthiest option. If you're doing this for health purposes, avoid maillard. If you're preparing for a culinary dish, maillard is a must.
