I took your advice here, applied them and I am so pleased.
Even though he spilled he wasn't seeing me in that dating light, that he was just enjoying the friendship and I smiled and replied "ok no big deal". And the friendship returned back to normal for me..

thank you so much for the counsel.. why has dating become so difficult? I've never been so confused. I remember the times when a guy liked a girl, he would approach her, ask her to hang out and they would see if it worked.. what happened to those simpler times? call me vulnerable or naive, but this seems so difficult.. like you can't just be liked for the you that you are, ..when have men become so complicated? I truly believe that Sex clouds the true process of finding a mate. I do love attraction, but hate trying to figure out if a guy only likes me because he wants some, or does he really want to be here. Then if I ask him, then that's too much pressure on a guy, causing him to run away?? what's that all about?

Want to thank you so much for advice about talking to a male friend I've been talking to for a year. Started feeling more than friends thoughts as I talked to him more and we started flirting and pg-13 touching (above the waist), especially since we just see each other at my work. He's a regular customer. Today I was able to talk to him in private away from other co-workers and customers. Said what you suggested and we are going out in a few weeks. The advice works at every age. I'm 45 and he's 52.

My experience is once the guy sniffs out you are attracted to them, most of them use you as an ego boost, or emotional tampon. This is especially true if the guy is insecure or a player. The worst thing about it is that he doesn’t really want you but doesn’t want to let you go either. So for you its never a win. I cut him off, he is still trying. Men are tough learners it seems.
