only time I was called in for jury duty, they asked every juror if they had ever committed a felony. i pleaded the fifth. I was then told to have a nice day.

My History teacher got jury duty early in the day, and the next day he came back and said “If you never want to be on a jury, just give an answer that doesn’t make sense”

He the followed it up with “When they asked me what i did for a living, i wasn’t paying attention and responded ‘6 o’clock’ thinking they asked what time I got to work. They told me to leave”

1. Not be interested
2. Not be invested
3. Not be educated (in relevant fields)

I've been selected twice, shown up, sat in the waiting room for HOURS, and been sent home both times because the case was settled instead. Such an honorable experience for like 30$ pay when it cost me 500$ regular pay to take time off. Thanks for the 'honor' of struggling to pay for food that month. Its equally, if not MORE dishonest to call jury duty honorable. Its forced, its uncomfortable, you may have to see things you never wanted to see or make life altering decisions for people, it may (like in my case) cause you severe financial difficulty.

I understand jury duty is important but shit it's annoying I have to be at the court house for 3 hours, sit around and then get sent home without being seen by the lawyers. Honestly I just hate the fact that I have to miss work and lose out on wages because of this.

My grandpa was actually called in for jury duty last week and right before it started he got dismissed because he was “staring to hard and suspiciously at the defendant”. In reality he had fallen a few days before and was in a lot of pain on the hard uncomfortable seats. It’s was hilarious when he was telling it to me bc he felt bad and wasn’t trying to signal out the accused
