It’s important to go to welding school but it is more important to learn how to weld. It doesn’t matter what you do just practice and keep practicing. Nobody can hold your hand. It’s up to you. American Welding Society! Welding schools!

My daughter took 3rd place in her welding competition. The first and second place went to guys that were graduating. She has another semester to go. She is happy with her result and loves what she is doing. Thanks again for the encouragement!

No book can teach this kind of skill! Also rare to find such a good teacher! Thanks for giving back to the community that made you a living and helping make it easier for new welders!

This is golden information. Almost nobody understands when you need to use a 5/32 rod. Thank you!

Nice looking hot pass, especially considering it's a 8010 rod

Really cool taking the time to help a guy out I wish I had more people like that around my area I’m 90% self taught through trial and error but repairing farm equipment I kinda lucky with lots and lots of practice I used to read book after book I could find at the library on welding and a few older guys would pitch a tip my way as a kid but not allot I sure would like to work next to someone like you and really take my welding skills to a new level and possibly even get on a pipeline as a welder some day this is becoming one favorite channels on welding thank God for YouTube it’s really helped reaching out and getting more perspective from different people on what or whatnot to do just more tools in the tool room and I feel more confident tackling new jobs I haven’t tried before and it’s working out better for the customers I help also everyone wins 👍

I find your videos very interesting because they are real world, not some guy in a laboratory with perfectly cleaned flat metal doing a butt weld. I only use TIG on sheet steel 18-20 gauge. If you have the interest there could be a lot of viewers who are looking to learn practical tips about this same process. Thank you.

It’s good to be back. Since last time I commented, I passed my red seal up in Alberta

True color lenses are a big advantage. You can actually see what colour the weld/arc/markings are. No more green or yellow. 3M has several true colour lenses, ESAB aswell, the ESAB A40 true colour helmet is the same lens that the ESAB sentinel helmet has. Only cost around 100-150$ depending on country.

Man you’ve helped me so much, I’m not a natural at running beads.
I’m 66 years old and trying to figure it out and do it right.
There are several things you can’t help me with, one is I’m getting pretty shaky but I’m doing all right, another one is bad rods.
I bought some cheap 6010’s at the welding supply that are red, I’ve tried everything and can’t make them work so I bought some of the better rods that are Lincoln 5p+ and man they are great and run smooth, 3/32 or 1/8.
I’m welding with a 2010 miller bobcat, I almost bought a vantage 300 when I bought the miller but wish that I would have bought the vantage now.
Thanks for all the help.

I grew up framing houses with my dad 11 and up, and that was one of the first things he taught me even earlier in life, was the hammer would hit where my eyes were focused!
