My college classes should credit you as my instructor, because I learn more from you in one video than I ever do in a full semester here. Learning to weld at this school has been one of the bigger disappointments of my adult life

Gotta respect a man who can talk about "rod manipulation" with a straight face.

Nothing is better than the slow motion visual to show the technique. Thanks for taking the time to teach.

I like your step wise approach to welding. Calm, relaxed and always restating what we have leaned.

“Someone wrote, I should run my hot pass on 111 amps or whatever. I laughed, I’ll run it on whatever I want” 😂 savage Bob

Great video Bob. You couldn’t of explained it better. Very thoroughly done. This is why your a brilliant teacher and we love your videos. I get my tig torch and an argon soon. I can’t wait to have play. And then I’ll buy my self a spool gun in a couple of months. There very expensive here like $470.
Only have a DC welder. It’s a cigweld 180 amp 3-way multi processor. That’ll do me. Welding is my new love at the moment as it’s fun to make stuff.

Bob, another great video from the "school of hard knocks (experience)". You can dial your machine all over the place, or you can manipulate your arc length and weld pool. I have found that both can give a good result, however, I am a fan/student of what I call "pool management". settings are settings, but if you know how to manipulate your arc length and what it does to the weld pool, you can produce some very good results, regardless of the machine you are running...…………..it all boils down to how much effort you have to put into it. Great tips and solid

Thanks so much for this! I hear all these welders talking about a hot pass with no explanation of what they’re talking about. Also pointing towards center of the pipe.
