Yup! And their confession will almost always include a "but..." at the end. At that point they go right back into being victim and blaming someone else.

Lack of coping skills is a core dysfunction for my narcissist MIL. Feeling frustrated, stressed, anxious, whatever, she viciously lashes out at us to feel better. And apology? Only if “I’m sorry I didn’t know you’re so sensitive” qualifies as an apology.

I worked with a narcissist, and everything described is exactly what I had to deal with. And after they were let go, they blamed everyone who complained. Never taking any responsibility at all.
A truly awful experience.

I love how calm and rational Dr Carter is while he's explaining the walking atrocity that Narcissists are...

Well said & so true. Their cycles repeat over & over. They can't change. You need to get out of this madness ASAP.

They burden you with their anger. Want you to digest their trash so they feel lighter

Every time this man speaks he describes To. A. “T” the experiences I have had with these people. And it keeps me sane. Thank you so much Doc

I’ve worked with them, been married to one and then there’s my family. It’s like he knows them all he’s so spot on. Les and Dr. Ramani have helped me tremendously. Thx!

I've made some healthy choices for myself in the last couple of years, meaning that the n in my life is turning up the heat on his attempts to control. Yesterday, he made a point of bringing a teaspoon to me to illustrate how I need to set it on the drying mat faced down because when I set it face up- it might have water in it. I'm 62 yrs old and have been washing dishes a long time. I laughed as if it was a joke. I haven't been able to stop thinking about it and what I should have said since, but I'm pretty sure I'm not setting it faced down...

A narcissistic individual plays THEIR Game, THEIR way. Trust is predicated on each partner in a relationship having accountability. THEY will not take accountability for their abusive behaviors. Strike 1. They don't do Authenticity. Strike 2. And, they don't have empathy. Strike 3. THEY lose!

I prefer the silent of the narcissist compared to the rants, that way I can pretend he doesn’t exist 😃

My experience with this problem is my wife of 41 yrs thinks it was ok to destroy our retirement which we had both worked for and planned having started with nothing, we still speak, I have no home after owning it, she now has to keep working instead of having a comfortable retirement and she is in debt at 64 yrs old when we were debt free in our fifties, she has health problems which are in check but it's the mental health part that she refuses to seek help for, I am 68 this year and living with my son renting a house right back where I started back in 1978.

I live with all of that. 😢 I can't imagine what it would be like to live with a gentle, caring and supportive partner. 😢

Wow the best description of narcissistic behavior ever my late husband of 36 years definitely fits this description I’ve wrestled with myself that he wasn’t all that bad but truth is he was

These videos help so much. I can't get back the years wasted on my narcissistic daughter, but at least I have learned to spot her tactics and won't let it happen again. She has been blaming me for her poor boyfriend choices since she was 15. Now seventeen years later, I can just listen too, but won't absorb, her blame game. You helped me in my despair.

Addiction. Addiction is their coping mechanism. People with NPD often have addictive personalities.
