#Nutrisense kicked 2023 off with a price increase to their #continuousglucosemonitor program, so I wanted to give a recap of the costs of what I think are the top 4 brands using continuous glucose monitors: Nutrisense, LEVELS, Signos, and Real Food Matters.

I have pre-diabetes. I signed up to Levels. $400 for the first month - and I am still in the first month. I am learning how foods affect me. For example, A lunch ham and cheese sandwich on Dave's Killer Powerseed bread has minimal effect on MY blood glucose. Add 1 plum to that and I get a bigger effect, but still very acceptable. However, for me, that same ham and cheese sandwich with 1 peach has a significantly greater effect. Yet a doctor on YouTube said that a plum or a peach is OK. Our own body's response can differ from the general case.

I live in Seattle in summer and Guaymas, Sonora in winter. My plan is to use the CGM for a month in Seattle and then use a CGM for a month in Mexico. I want to find out how Mexican foods affect me and de-emphasize the ones that cause a blood glucose spike.

Levels costs $200 for the subsequent months for CGMs. My HMO pharmacy would cost $168 per month. I had Costco request a transfer of the prescription and they charged me $86.60 for 2 Freestyle Libre 14 day sensors (one month).

The first month was worth it for me because of the APP and support. My plan is to continue from time-to-time via Costco.

CGMs are over-the-counter in Mexico. In fact Amazon Mexico sells the same CGM for approximately $US175.50 for one month supply. No prescription needed.

Note that neither Levels nor Amazon Mexico can send CGMs across the border.

This is apparently not for poor people. The funny thing is that the sensors probably are NFC sensors and therefore anyoyne with slight programming skills should be able to write open source free to use monitoring apps to aid those who are poor.
Those subscription apps are almost as unethical as "pay to play" games ...they drain money from people who show know better than bleed money

Nice video, I use Libre and Blucon device and it has been life saver for me, I've been able to manage my glucose levels and avoid dangerous lows, especially at night. The Linkblucon app's alarms have been a life-saver for me, providing peace of mind and allowing me to sleep more soundly.

This is helpful. I've read that Nutrisense makes you sign up for a subscription. Is that how your service works?

A CGM would be helpful to me based upon previous very low Glucose episodes I have experienced in the past few months. Unfortunately, my current type 2 diabetes condition is apparently not considered severe enough according to my insurance to justify a CGM. And being retired on a fixed income makes the monthly expense out of reach. Thank you nonetheless for your efforts in providing an optional way into the CGM world.

What If i'm a professional or very informed consumer? It's just glucose values in the end which is straightforward and If i really need it I can just get a dietitian to help me create a meal plan. Either way, You can learn your patterns over time provided you can examine your own glucose levels over time.

Thank you the chart and video are helpful. As a nurse and a Health Coach I am looking for a service to try out for my own health and as a resource for clients.

I just want to continuously see my glucose levels and have them plotted to a graph I can later reference. No interpretation needed. Is that possible with the diy program?

I'm a Nurse whos co worker is a single mother suffering with type 2 diabetes as well as binge eating disorder. She has insurance but not a penny to spare. I just suggested yesterday that she look into CGM but the cost will be unaffordable for her for sure. Thank you for all you do.

Do I need a doctor's prescription for a CGM? And is it only for people who have diabetes? How does that work?

This person is a shill for the industry and for certain manufacturers. $400 per month is outrageously over priced. These monitors are available fot $30-40. You do not need these vultures picking your bones.
