There has been so many remakes so many adaptations... This by far is the most disturbing. This is not the Anne we all grew up with, and Barbara Hershey is no Meghan Follows. To be honest I'm disappointed in Sullivan Entertainment for coming up with this. To associate Lucy M. Montgomery's work with this is an insult.

I WANT to like this, but Megan Follows was SO GOOD as Anne...I just can't take Barbara Hersey in the part as the adult Anne, lol. I suppose I'm just biased as I grew up with Megan in the part.

Sorry the story is Anne Shirley's parents, were Walter and Bertha Shirley, who died of typhoid fever when Anne was three months old. Anne's father was a teacher at Bolingbroke High School. After her parents' death, Anne had a difficult time in her adolescence and was moved between orphanages and harsh families until she was taken in by Mrs. Thomas. Mrs. Thomas was a poor woman with a drunken husband who only wanted Anne to help with their children and household chores. Anne was eventually adopted by Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert, who lived on a farm called Green Gables in Avonlea, Canada. Anne never reunited with her father cause he was dead.

This company started out so faithfully, and then Anne III and stuff like THIS came out. I can't even begin to express the disappointment.

I think that instead of making Anne III & Anne IV, Sullivan should have: filmed Anne's House of Dreams, circa 1990, starring Leslie Ash as Leslie;
and filmed Anne of Ingleside, in the late '90s, with the Olsen twins as Nan & Di.

This devastates me. Stop it, just stop it. Anne Of Green Gables was a beautiful story that has been redone far too many times since 1985. Changing the story line is shameful and I will not support this drivel. Did you ever stop, for even a moment, to consider that all this repackaging is actually ruining the franchise?

She's a beautiful little girl but...she isn't stick thin like Anne is described to be. Nor wirey or homely.

I love the 1985 one cause it’s closer to the book however I wish they would of added some things. Like the twins they take in. Davy and Dora. Davy was the one that said did you know Gilbert Blythe is dying? Not Minnie May and Rachel Lynde was the one that stated for him to hold his tongue. I liked that part because it shows Rachel having a soft side instead of always knowing her as the meddling woman in everyone’s business. I wish they also would have put that Anne and Gilbert had a baby they lost named Joyce in there. Because in the 3rd version it leaves us wondering why Anne didn’t have any kids except the boy she brought home from the war while looking for Gilbert. putting that in the movie might of explained better that she can’t or has a hard time having children. I’m currently reading all the books. And when I read that she lost a child I balled my eyes out.

The movie was horrible, why would Anne want to sell Green Gabbles in the first place? It was her one true home.

I’m sorry.... but her father’s alive and she doesn’t know what a kindred spirit is?? This is sooo disturbing and where’s Gilbert? Why the heck is this. This I not Amybeth or Megan. Help. Just why? This isn’t how I imagine Anne AT ALL.

When I first saw this I was skeptical that anyone else than Megan Follows could do Anne Shirley justice! I was wrong, Hannah Endicott-Douglas was just as enchanting and charming as Megan's interpretation of Anne! Which made this both prequel and continuing story such a delight to watch! Kevin Sullivan captured Lucy Maud Montgomery in his prequel to one of the best family stories of all time! It showed that Anne had a unbelievably horrific life until she came to Green Gables! Her imagination was what kept her sanity! But oh how she rose to be a loving, strong woman! A heroine in the truest sense of the word and she was bulletproof or wearing a cape, her will to survive and strength of character made her a heroine all girls could look up to, as us guys as well!

The little girl so adorable great acting class..also love Road to Avonlea..I seen Anne with a E a few epidsodes but have not finished. Why was not Megan in it?
