Seattle police union leaders are under investigation after a body camera caught an officer joking about a woman who was killed.

A city police watchdog agency is investigating Seattle police union leaders after body-camera footage captured an officer appearing to joke about the death of a young woman who was struck by a police cruiser earlier this year.

The Seattle Police Department released the footage from Officer Daniel Auderer, who is also the vice president of the Seattle Police Officers Guild, on Monday. The footage shows Auderer on a call with guild President Mike Solan where they seemingly laugh and joke about a 23-year-old woman who died after being hit by a marked patrol vehicle on Jan. 23.

The 23-year-old was identified as Jaahnavi Kandula, a graduate student from the Seattle campus of Northeastern University. Kandula was on track to receive her master's degree in information systems in December, The Seattle Times reported.

VOTE for Laws to be passed to Hold Police Officers Accountable in crimes. Also vote to pass requirements for mental health checks, morals values and ethics checks on training officers, and continue to check throughout their career- remind police they are to keep the peace, not create more chaos and violence. Yea short staffed is not an excuse for these police in America to abuse their power.

Too many people is excusing this mans behavior and holding him to no accountability... He and others like him chose their professions knowing what comes along with the job and if you can't handle the downsides of your profession then maybe it's time to find another career that doesn't mean involve protecting and serving...
