One lesson I have learned in my years from wise old seniors was to be empathetic although I strongly feel it’s inside of either you got it within you or don’t but that’s only my personal view. Being naive, young, no experience I landed a job for a wealthy company who manage senior population. None of these seniors ever asked me during my interview how good I was with numbers all they wanted to know and assure if something happens I will be there to listen, care and have their back. As a 20 year old I had none of money management skills but always helped elderly from very young years it was instilled in me. From these elders who were in their 80’s and 90’s I consider them wise I learned if I get the gift of being their age I wouldn’t want someone with me who knows how to count I can do that myself, like them I would want someone with good and pure intentions who will only care, Great lesson learned from these elders at my young age

When companies talk about the bottom line it often has to do with profitability and sustainability and not the components that contribute to that bottom line; which includes their leadership team.

A good leader motivates, inspires, recognizes and appreciates all of the unique gifts and talents that each team member brings to the table and encourages them to utilize them to the best of their abilities in an effort to help maximize the bottom line. A bad leader has the complete opposite effect on both the team and bottom line.💛

By taking time to recognize that their employees are people and not a number companies and leaders can help move their bottom line from loss to gain. ✨

When an employee feels respected and appreciated by management and their company they are going to work harder then if they are not and a good leader will recognize this and lead accordingly.💛 Great clip and reminder Simon that the way we treat people matters.✨

This is such a valuable tip! After all, business is made up of people. Caring about your people will get you a lot further than treating them like a cog in a big wheel.

I have watched many of your videos and they are all fantastic! Do you have any books on leadership that you could recommend for the book club idea?

Good leader helps a staff to complete all the tasks assigned by the company as per the accountability and earn the food for himself and the family. A burnout only happens if this follow of chain is broken.

Good evening, gentleman, from SPAIN, I beg you if you can put subtitles in Spanish to be able to understand. I have an intellectual disability of 35% for abuse, my stress and my discipline does not allow me to learn from a person who thinks in a way that can help humanity, everyone does it for economic interests and judging. I would appreciate your deference of heart. A greeting

Every time Simon talks about 'good leaders' and what they do I see how huge miles my chief of the office is away from that 😒
Why I don't leave? Money... (Un)fortunately it's enough to keep in the position 😕
I wish I could work for Simon for a month or so.

tbh, sometimes I am still struggling to develop these skills towards others as I have never received myself to such extent (I am GenX) even though I am an INFP

So im in a leadership position...and iam a part of a chat with multiple other leaders from the same channel at other stores..i believe transparency in showing weaknesses moments and help each other as a channel. But i get called on it and that i shouldnt make my store appear weak. But im showing this "weakness" to get other leaders of our channel to help one another and grow as a whole...am i wrong?

Bosses are never good leaders. Am curious on the picture in the background 🤭😄. Hard to focus whilst trying not to be distracted by the picture 😄

A truly corporate scenario

A person requests leave. Leave is above company policy. The person will need replaced at cost for the days they have taken as leave.

How do you demonstrate empathy and say no to what is a genuine request for holidays?
