This is how you can test the inner joint on a cv axle. No removal necessary.

As always, constructive criticism is welcomed and encouraged. I’ll take hate too if that’s all you got.

There is videos made by professional mechanics that they talk so much and don't teach anything this video is very informative and it's properly made thank you for the information. 👍

I watched 10 videos to find a way to explain how to inspect a half shaft, all useless until I found yours. Good job.
May I add that on a rear wheel drive car, you will get vibration in your seat on acceleration that gets resolved when you release the gas pedal. Also you might hear a click when you first back up in your driveway.

I had extreme vibration on our 2006 Odyssey with 217, 000 miles when driving down the interstate. Replaced all the motor/trans mounts with no luck. Still had the vibration when top speed reached around 70 mph or less. Saw your video and replaced both CV axles and problem solved 👍

Why is it the people that don’t know much about something explain shit much better and all the videos I’ve come across talk about only the outer side(wheel side) and this is the best inner cv axle video online for what I specifically needed to know thank you for this even tho she’s an only video my Toyota Tacoma have the driver side going out and now I know what I need to fix it torn boots were replaced and everything on this one do to holes but not crud so thought it was fine and now I’ve got a new project😅

This is a good one. Like Andres said, lots of videos out there, but none talk of this movement, which seems most people are wondering about. Made total sense, thank you.

You are about the only person that really said exactly what we experience WHEEL HOP during acceleration, thank you, subbing just because of that... Also, the steering feels abit lighter to me, or maybe that is just me...

THIS IS A VERY GOOD VIDEO. THE INNER JOINT IS HARD TO TELL IF IT IS BAD.

Exellent video. In my case, my Lexus had a little play at the axle shaft at differential housing and a mechanic told me that is abnormal and may cause axle seal to leak which worried me. But you were told that that play is ok by someone which makes me feel relieved. Other video also showed similar play at the axle shaft at the differential housing so I am inclined to think that what you were told is correct. Thanks for the video!

Thanks a bunch! I have inner joint problem which causes ticking noise on deceleration. But could not tell whether it comes from right or left side because if I sit on driver side, I hear noise from passenger side, if I sit on passenger side, the noise seems to come from driver side. You just showed me how to check bad inner joint. This will help me pin point which side is bad. I will try it out today. If it works out, you saved me whole lot of time wondering. No one else had this info on Youtube. Excellent video!

This is the best, I don’t know anything about suspension I’ve been watching YouTube videos left and right about the cv axles going in and out and no one talks about that being a normal thing or not and you just solved that for me 10/10

I had the car up on stands and looked all over the suspension and couldn't find anything wrong; thought I might have loose lug nuts or tie rod ends. Wish I had seen your video earlier! That is a great method to check the inner CV joints and that would have been a good thing to check. The symptoms match your description of the problem. I will definitely have to put it back up on stands. I was going to replace the CV axles, but your method will let me try to verify that they are indeed the problem, and also which side is the problem; so that I can repair only the one that is broken. Thanks.
