I've seen so many videos tell me there will be a 'clicking' sound. That means nothing to me. What would really make this video stellar is to record the clicking sound so we can hear it. Auditory examples teach in moments what language can never convey. What you call 'click' I might call 'thump'.

Vibrations at highway speeds could also be from bad CV axels

Mine snapped in half after a year of lack of knowledge how to fix it and a garage that promised free labour because they misdiagnosed it and were willing to repair axle free of labour just pay for part.

After it snapped I looked up on YouTube how to fix it and it's as simple as a 20 minute job. Did and back on the road.

I've been working on a project car and learned a lot. but I was always being told it's a very difficult job by this garage and free sounded better than doing it myself.

I watched an 1Aauto video and they showed exactly how to do it. Good quality videos I'm glad they show how to repair a vast amount of cars, mine was a 2005 sunfire.

Thank you sir, there’s a loud clunking on my drivers side only when I turn and the guys at big o tires said my sway bar links failed even tho there not even a week old. I was either guessing ball joints or cvs, my boots are torn through so this helps me confirm.

I have some TRQ cv axles for my '98 Town and Country, I'm going to install them as soon as the axle seals arrive. I just put on some of the TRQ rear wheel bearings and they seem to be of great quality. I appreciate your videos.

Correction: the axles are from Detroit Axle, but I have a set of four TRQ struts for a 2003 Lincoln LS that I"m going to install tomorrow! :)

Just ordered some new cv axles for my 2007 Honda Pilot from you guys. Price was good for the set. I’m gonna do the work myself since I have all the tools for the job. Seems easy enough so we’ll see.

I had bad half shaft no indications at all in turning or anything until you got up to speed limit and then all sudden it was like right brake grabbed and tried pulling it of the road very dangerous ! But never see mentions of that indicator on line anywhere

I learned the hard way that if one cv axle is failing then its a safe bet that the other one is due for replacement as well.

CV axle also can cause front end vibration. There is specific test on that.

I'm procrastinating by watching this video because after both boots have been torn for almost a year I'm getting a pretty solid vibration at highway speeds in the steering wheel. Hoping it will wait another 90 days and warmer weather since I alternate cars but who knows.... Don't hear the clicking yet, remember that noise from my 1981 Chevy Citation back in the early 90's, my first FWD vehicle. Eventually it left me stranded and needed to tow it home behind my buddies truck.

Front driver side vibrates when accelerating. No noise at all. No leaking or damaged boot. No play when pulling on it. No indication the cv on my toyota tacoma is bad. So im startong to think that mabe its the tire but that would mean the car should always shake not just when accelerating, but my car only vibrates when accelerating. So idk how ot can be my cv axel when everything you said was a sign my showes none of those signs. It viberates only accelerating no noise at all. No leaking or cut boot. Doesnt make sence. Cant figure it out but maybe mine is just starting to go out amd isnt worn enough to make noises or give alot of play when pulling on it

What if you are getting a little feed back with a little pop but no clicking?

Hi,

Thank you for the informative video!
Have you ever seen excessive movement with the inner CV joint (both up/down and left/right), I think I have bad differential bearings - but not entirely sure as I rebuilt the gearbox 15 months ago
