Weird fact about the queen & her sister; Elizabeth was born in England, died in Scotland, Margret born in Scotland, died in England.

Arguably one of the most loved monarchs in history, still doesn't feel right without her on the throne.

Until her death on the 8th of September last year, she was the only British monarch I had ever known. At the time I was born, the Queen was on the throne for over 39 years. As a Canadian, I always saw her on our $20 CAD bill and on the reverse of each of our coins. Inevitably, both images will be replaced by her son Charles III starting next year or so. The last photograph ever taken of her was a striking testament of her lifelong service and dedication to her role to the very end; there she was at Balmoral just two days before her death, after swearing in her final Prime Minister (and the only time outside of Buckingham Palace), with a very diminished figure, but one that was content in the knowledge that she fulfilled her responsibilities and knew her time was coming to an end shortly. It still was a bit of a shock when she passed away, but one I could see coming. In a bit of a coincidence, I was abroad when I learned of her death, just as she was when she learned of her father's passing and her immediate succession as Queen.

RIP Queen Elizabeth II.

As a Canadian who really has very little interest in the monarchy..Queen Elizabeth spent mostly her whole life as the Queen ..and she had her ups and downs as we all do ...but she lived her life under the microscope...and at the end of the day ...she survived..she stood up to anything or anyone who tried to destroy her ...never showed sorrow..anger ..fear or humiliation...not one person in the world could ever live up to this ...she did ..she died my hero..its a person that we will never witness 😊again ...god bless her

I am not British but Queen Elizabeth was my Queen too. I miss her grace, elegance, wit, dignity, sense of duty and love for humanity. An embodiment of true feminism. She lived a most remarkable life and will always be fondly remembered.
Lilibeth, Bertie's greatest gift to Britain .Rest in peace and power my queen.

She lived a life of service even before she ascended to the throne. She will be remembered for her grace, strength, and unfailing devotion to her people.

I've had enormous respect for Her Majesty all of my life. She was a fine leader and states person. My only regret is that I never met her in person. God bless her and keep her.

As a Yank, please accept my respect and condolences upon the passing of Queen Elizabeth the Second. She earned my respect by serving in uniform as an ambulance driver during WW2.

Her lengthy service as Queen was unprecedented, and brought further respect to Great Britain during the Post-WW2 era.

May she Rest in the Peace of the Righteous. Amen.

For my whole life she was my sovereign, the head of state that seemed permanent. I was fortunate to live under one of the longest reigning monarchs in history and certainly one of its most humane queens and a woman who always put duty first.

I was ten years old for her coronation and listened to it on the radio in my fourth grade classroom while living in occupied Germany as my father, in the US military, was stationed n Frankfurt. I remember it well and have always had great respect, even as a Yank, for the late Queen. May she rest in peace beside her beloved Phillip.

Elizabeth II was truly one of the best modern monarchs, she embodied what it meant to be a royal for over 70 years, she did the Uk a great service.

I'm an American born in 1988. It feels almost surreal
knowing that Elizabeth II is not on the British throne. She was such a staple for all of my life, and my parents lives, who were born in 1955 and 1956. RIP to such a strong, resolute woman.

She was always just The Queen. In the UK and across the world. It’s still so strange she’s gone. I keep thinking she’ll appear again tomorrow. 😥

The queen and I share the same birthday. ♥️ There was something grounding having The Queen all through out an ever changing, troubling world. May she RIP.

I have honestly been waiting for your voice to say "The woman known to history" to make this all real and final.

She will always be The Queen. Simply put, I remain a loyal subject. She always had my respect.
