This is good to know. It's been 8 weeks after surgery and my foot swells after wearing shoes. Btw, has anyone ever told you that you look like Tim Conway? I think you do. 😊

When I was wearing a fiberglass cast which was taking off. I had a boot on shortly after the cast was taken off. 4 days later the swelling was gone and I lost some muscle in that leg. My left ankle was swollen for a little bit over a month and a half when I broke my left ankle in a car accident in early March 2012. I wore a splint cast for 2 weeks. A fiberglass cast for 4 weeks. My left ankle was swollen when I had the fiberglass cast saw off. I was still not to put any weight on that ankle. I remembered wearing the fiberglass cast that I can stand up from the bed w/o using a walker. I grabbed the walker to used and hopped a little bit in the room. I wanted to walk so badly back then. It was May 11th when I started to walk again with using a walker. It took baby steps. By June that I didn’t used the walker around my parents home. I grabbed the trim on the walls and used the kitchen counter to walked. I even acted liked having an invisible walker in walking. By towards the end of June that I don’t need the walker no more. I was still wearing the boot. I was walking normal with it on. During the month of July that I was weening off the boot. By August that I was back to walking normally.

🤯 surgery a week ago. My swelling is worst when elevated & ice isn't helping 😥 I have already had the splint replaced twice! Everything is just too tight😟 not looking forward to the cast. My foot feels as if it will burst.

What about numbness on the top of my foot? Fell down 12 stairs, foot went behind me hit every step. Shin is numb but getting slightly better. A plate with 8 screws, 2 pins, damage done on March 4 2024. Foot up, Motrin constantly! Minimal swelling.

Hi Dr., I had a fasciotomy on my foot to release a few compartments. Ever since surgery I have to always keep my foot elevated. Whenever my foot is down it immediately swells and turns bright red. I’m about 4 and a half months in and it’s still like this. Any suggestions of what’s happening?
