Was able to do 15 reps, added weight, hurt my elbows. This is 100% correct.

I’m 47 years old with type 2 Diabetes so I deal with insulin resistance. My frame is 5’09” and I weigh 220lbs. I’ve been working in the gym since Sept of 2019 and this year able to do body weight dips. I am up to 18 dips straight in a single rep. I will definitely follow the 50 dips suggestion before adding weight. Thank you for this valuable tip because When to add weight has crossed my mind.

I completely agree with that 30 rep minimum, that's absolutely when you can perform perfect plate reps. Good conversion

I let myself go really badly this year and I'm just getting back into working out. I can't do bodyweight Dips or Chin ups yet, but I am progressively overloading each day on the close grip Bench and lat pulldown!! You're an inspiration alex!!

Since I started doing bodyweight chest focused dips (way more leaned forward, legs tugged in to my abdomen) chest gains finally stopped plateauing. Dips are goated.

I use a band on the bottom that supports me at the bottom of the movement and helps prevent injury. Then I add a backpack to add weight, makes dips better try it and tell me what you think

Firstly id like to say, Alex is one of the few guys who consistently improves his physique even after training for so many years. And this guy has the ability to just shift from bear mode to shredded lol. Definitely one of the most inspiring natural athletes

Great advice. I went on to weighted dips too early and my sternum was in alot of pain. Time to take a step back. I’m at 17 body weight dips right now. Thanks for the advice.
