Is it normal to have sore traps after doing these exercises? My traps are often very tight and sore, and often take over when I do most exercises.
I've been reading Robin Mackenzie's books for my lower back and neck pain, and have started implementing the basic exercises, however for the past few days since doing these, my right trap is very sore and tight.

I have been experiencing bilateral arm pain for a while. Performing the retractions reduces the pain, but I tend to get a pretty severe, lingering headache after about a week of doing them. Any thoughts on why that happens?

I have a strange issue. When I'm sitting and raise my left leg I feel a dull stabbing shooting ache on the back of my head left side lower at base of skull. It lasts a second and goes away.
